Will Lexus Make a Hybrid Variant of Entire Model Lineup?(Updated, Lexus says YES)
I was thinking about it earlier today on the way home after seeing a 600hL and both 450's. Now with the HS 250 on it's way, what's stopping Lexus from applying the tech to their entire lineup. Just thinking outloud... What do you guys think?
Personally, I don't see the problem. If they are going to have 3 Hybrids and 1 dedicated Hybrid model, why not just extend it?

Well Toyota wants a hybrid option in every vehicle by 2020 so it's gonna happen lol.
The question is trucks like the Tacoma and Tundra as well as the Land Cruiser, Sequoia and LX570. HSD has been designed for light duty.

Except in Japan, where HSD is mated to a turbo diesel engine and being used in trucks and small moving trucks

well at every press conference, lexus announces that they release 1 hybrid model every year. this has been true since 2006. During the HS reveal, the Mark Templin even hinted at it, saying that "it makes you [the audience] wonder what we'll [lexus] reveal next year"

My bet is the ES. The leg work has already been done in the Camry. All Lexus has to do is connect it to an engine better than the Camry's 2.4L. Perhaps the new 2.5L would be potent enough. Or the 3.5L...might be too much for a front driver.

Exactly why a 3.5L setup makes more sense for the ES. However, an ES450h is too much. The DI 3.0L from the GS wouldn't be a bad choice to make an ES350h.
