Ariel Atom or Mazda Cup Car?
Here's my dilemma. I'm trying to decide between doing a one day combo at Skip Barber at Lime Rock Park http://www.skipbarber.com/racing_sch...ng_combos.aspx or an Ariel Atom experience at Virginia International Raceway http://www.arielatomexperience.com/Silver.aspx The Atom is quicker 0-60 under 3 sec but the ride in the car would be shorter and I would have to wait till September. Has anyone done either? Which would you do? The dollar difference does not matter ($800 Atom vs. $1,200 Skip- I can get a discount) if I decide by 5/29. Helppppppppppppp

Skip Barber FTW I would try to get in the formula 2000 cars!! But the atom is the way to go. Ask when they are going to be getting the 500hp V8 atom that clocks 0-60 in 2.5S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111~!~~!!!!

Update: I just received(5/30) an E-mail from the Atom folks responding to my request for more info. #1 They said the dates listed on the VIR site were from last year and only one date is available this year, July 30th. #2 It now costs $1995 although the program is longer. My budget was $1200 Since my discount at Skip expired 5/29 I'm %^&*

New Update - Skip Barber's latest offer is the AMG driving Academy where you drive 5 AMG cars instead of the MX-5 cup car for $300 more. I think they are a CLK550, SL63,C63, SLK55 and maybe the CLS63. Not sure if any will be the black series. I think this is the way I'm going. What do you think? Do you think they would be if I show up in our NELOC shirt?

After speaking with the folks at Skip Barber I signed up for the AMG academy. The five cars are the CLK63 black series, SL63, C63,E63 and SLK55. The program begins the night before with a dinner and technical briefing. The next day we have a drivers meeting at 8AM and in the cars from 8:30 to 12 doing a high speed slalom, skid pad, cornering line and handling. Break for lunch. Then 1 -4:45 back on the track for lead follow and some competition autocross. End of day we get driven around the track by the AMG drivers showing off what the cars can do. Only down side is I have to wait for September to do it
