It’s been a long time, but SLP Performance Parts is following up on the success of its Firebird Firehawk with a Firehawk version of the new Pontiac G8 GT - the Firehawk Supercharged.
The heart of this package is the SLP TVS 1900 positive-displacement supercharger that will give the G8 GT 500hp. Also included in the package is an SLP PowerFlo stainless steel exhaust system and an SLP Blackwing cold air intake system.
The SLP Firehawk package includes a full array of modifications including a sport suspension and an aero kit that includes flat black painted hood and grille surrounds, color-matched lower front fascia grille inserts and an SLP flat black rear spoiler.
SLP Firehwak G8 GTs will roll on gun metal 5-spoke wheels that measure 19-inches at all four corners with 245/40/19 Bridestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position tires.
Other trim items in the package include Firehawk center caps, Firehawk badges, a Firehawk car cover, Firehawk embroidered headrests, Firehawk floor mats, two Firehawk key fobs, a Firehawk numbered dash plaque and birth certificate.
The Pontiac G8 GT Firehawk package costs $18,995 and is available through SLP or any one of its authorized dealerships.
A competition brake package is also offered for $4,995.
While some might argue that launching a project like this in the middle of a worldwide recession is foolish, we have to say that with the demise of GM’s high performance vehicle operations unit, those who love horsepower have no choice but to go to the aftermarket, as manufacturers are turning their backs on enthusiasts

I wouldn't pay near $65K for the G8, but I'd rather have it instead of the CTS-V. I see a million CTS' rolling around (not many V's but still)...and I actually like the looks of the G8 MUCH better....
I wish Chevy or Cadillac would re-badge this car. I feel that's all it would need to be a success -- similar to how the Saturn Aura was a flop, then the Chevy Malibu comes out and its a huge hit....even tho its the same car.

Having been the proud owner of a 1999 Firehawk this isn't quite what I expected. If it were available as an RPO (regular production option) that would be awesome but I guess those days are over. As it is this is just another aftermarket job which is nice but nothing to get too excited about IMO.
As others have said I would be all over a CTS-V before picking up a Firehawk for nostalgic reasons.
