It almost ALWAYS come down to the drivers when it comes to off roading. Here is a fellow CL member, 1LOUDLX, doing his thing a little while ago before he did a full off road conversion. At the time of this video, he was still on stock tires and suspension.

You can get stuck, it's happened to me, but because I did something wrong. Like not follow the right line straddling a rock offroad, or trying to drive thru a 15' wall of snow going too slowly. You're not wheeling hard enough if you dont get stuck. Although, all the "stuck"s in the other videos are weak and unworthy of being stuck.
some not-so-stuck pictures

I'm thinking that all of the above are built on the Hilux platform...or at least a derived version of Toyota's Global small truck platform. You can add the Fortuna and the Hiace van to that list too.

haha it's all about the tires. even my jeep would get stuck in some silly mud like that if i had street tires on it. the best upgrade fora 4wd vehicle is good tires if the owner plans to actually take it off road.
additionally, all these high end suv's have some kind of traction control... which is great for street driving, but when stuck in mud or snow, the tc needs to be OFF. wheel spin cleans out the tires; but the wheels won't spin much if hte tc is intervening. i always find it funny when people in these things would get stuck in 6" of snow here with the TC on. i'd come over, push the button and it would drive right out. they would then say" but i thought TC was good?" i say, it is as longas you're on pavement...
this is what i wheel in and it goes everywhere and even has working A/C! this is from a trip last weekend.

Not sure about the point of this thread other then being a joke?
Coming from someone that owns a trail rig those videos are showing suv’s with tires not made to do what their doing.
It also comes down to the driver. I can throw my buddy in my jacked up FJ sitting on mud tires and he would dig a hole and sit it on the frame just on some wet ground.
Between the driver and tires, let alone the surface varies so much I do not understand why someone is trying to bash on those suv’s?

Nice lx 1loudLX, i personally like the lx more the way you had it before, but that is because i like stock more, not to say the way your lx is now isn't a total beast, sort of thing that if i saw in my rearview mirror, i'd move over. I just recently joined ih8mud and seeing some of the landcruisers/lx's over there is amazing. Our lx is destined to be a mall cruiser
