Default BMW M7 coming to Dealership near you...

Convincing BMW M7 Spy Photos Caught for First Time?
After a couple of near-misses WCF can finally reveal the first spy pictures of the upcoming BMW M7... or whatever BMW decides to call it. Looking like the sportiest non-Alpina 7 Series variant to date, telltale details include the power bulge on the bonnet similar to the one found on the M3, an aggressively styled pseudo M-style front bumper with gaping air intakes plus sport wheels with huge brakes just beneath. Since the camouflage is so minimal hopefully the car will not stay such a big secret for much longer.

If in fact the M7, it will represent the ultimate BMW super saloon. It will target cars like the Mercedes-Benz duo, the S63 AMG and the S65 AMG, as well as the upcoming Jaguar XJR. Currently the most powerful 7 Series in the lot is the twin turbo 760i which has a 6.0-litre V12 engine. Maximum power is rated at 400kW (544hp) and peak torque is 750Nm made between 1,500rpm and 5,000rpm.

The assumption is that the M7 will eclipse these figures but whether it goes beyond the 450kW (612hp) made by the S65 AMG remains to be officially confirmed. What we can say with a fair degree of confidence is that the M7 will become the most powerful mass series BMW car ever built and one of its quickest in the current range.

===================================================================

surprising they would produce such a car in this economic climate...

Was only a matter of time before they started to M everything. Just hope they can back up and ramp up the M power to move this HUGE sexy beast. We all know that the 7 is no slouch already, but it is still heavy as all outdoors.

M=Mass...

That said I think its a great idea. Maybe an answer more for the Panamera Turbo than anything.

yeah, with all the competition (jag, mb, porsche), i guess bmw has no choice. so much about the 7 series platform can't be made into m performance huh? enough about the whole alpina thing, that's just aftermarket. this is a car from bmw factory

Now if it wasn't so homely, this thing is getting uglier by the minute.

My guess would be 570-600 HP with less than 500 pound-feet of torque making it S63 competitor... no way BMW will come out with something crazy like S65 with 604 HP with 738 pound-feet of torque. We need LS-F soon...

M is more for Marketing.

I had a BMW when I was younger, loved it. But after I saw what a chipped 335 could do against an M, it had to made me wonder what has become of the M.

i have a 335 now. There is no comparison between it an a modded 335 with juicebox, dinan, vishnu etc. The bushings & other suspension components are not even shared between the two. Two totally different drives. Speaking of drives, there is a BMW M driving event (by invite) taking place around the country at present starring the M3. Perhaps this will give many the opportunity to find out for themselves what i am talking about.. Maybe I will be nice enough to post it..

M stands for motorsport..

This car will be aimed squarely at the executive jets below:

Mercedes S63/65
Audi S8
Jag XJ8
Maserati Quattroporte
Porshe Panamera

This car can compete with the S63 but no way this car can compete with a
S65. Unless they can come up with a M-Powered V12.
