The change just happened at this dealership last week. All the Corollas had just a few miles on them. It was my first service since they made the change. You should call before your next service appointment if you use a loaner car.

When we had an Jaguar XJ, we used to get a Ford Contour as a loaner, and when we brought the E320 in for service we usually got a Taurus

Anyhow...that really is ridiculous. Like others have said, you should call Lexus and make your dealership aware of how you feel.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this practice becoming more commonplace at every dealer. Let's face it, car sales are down and buying one simply to let people drive it at no cost doesn't help the bottom line in the now, and that's how many dealerships are looking at it. There isn't a lot of long term outlook right now about future sales because someone liked the loaner better than their car when the sales are down so far. If there is no dealership, there won't be any sales anyway, so they have to worry about staying open first.

Once the economy rolls up and improves, we can probably all look forward to getting a better rental than a Corolla. For now, I'll stick with a quality dealership rather than driving all the way down the 60.

Oh, and it's good that your neighbors look out for you like that.

Well the only good thing is it makes me appreciate my IS250 more haha... it takes a Corolla to make me appreciate my bottom feeder level Lexus

They haven't. My RX is in because the radio went out for the 3rd time. I'm driving a RX350 with nav. Though you have to watch out because if you get there at anytime after 8, you won't get a lexus loaner, instead they give you some enterprise POS.

Scottsdale Lexus and Bell Lexus are about equidistant from me so I think I'll give Bell a try for my next service. They still offer Lexus loaners.

I guess I look at it as, as long as I leave with a car that runs well I am happy. Long ago I thought it was such a big deal to make sure I left in a lexus now the reality is, just give me a decent car that causes me no loss in time.

After seeing how people treat the loaners, I do not blame the dealer.............

its ok man I took a S550 to Mercede benz of west covina(used to be penske motorcar) for service they give me a freaking corolla as well!!!!! that all they have now.. I assume those that drive 200k s65 and 460k SLR will probably have to drive a corolla if they drop their car off. no more c300 loaner unless you pay EXTRA for it.. and no more free soda... I will probably never return to that dealership. Penske sucks!
