Is TOYOTA done with turbo cars?
I'm been waiting and waiting to buy another turbo Toyota since the 90's. I am about to give up.
Ever since they killed the MR2 turbo, Supra turbo, Celica AllTrac turbo, their lineup has been so boring. Even their joint Subaru car has no turbo planned for it.
Even Acura has the turbo VTEC power plant, but it seems Toyota has abandoned the turbo option. I don't understand it, they could sell a fuel efficient 4 cylinder turbo car that still offers great performance. They already proved that turbo cars can be reliable, their turbo engines were for the most part indestructible.

Toyota has openly stated that they are working on "Electronically assisted turbos" so we will have to see where that goes.
I think the bigger part of the problem is a lack of sporty products to put them in.

Nissan's got turbo, GM has a nice direct injection turbo LNF product... hopefully Toyota is serious about those electric turbos:

I willing to bet that A 2GR could do 350 without boost and much effort. When Toyota decide to mount valvematic, it will already be pushing 340, all without even increasing rpms.
