I dont kno abotu this looking better than the XF although right now my overall impressions on design is that it potentially COULD be class leading after i see it in person

This car has all sorts of style. Absolutely sensational. Maybe a little over styled in some areas, but I love it.

5.6L?? Thats a huge jump from a 4.5L. Infiniti is back to having class leading hp ratings once again.

WOuld somebody tell me why this interior looks like it belongs in the S/7/LS class? Its freakin incredible.

Infiniti did a GREAT job with this redesign. They needed this.

I sat in the 7 series interior....it is IMPECCABLY wonderful to sit inside...i feel about the same just by LOOKING at the new M's interior.

whats weird is i HATE the current m interior....This new M interior is similar but just elevated to such heights that its just gorgeous.

I am blown away. The exterior styling is amazing while still having conservative proportions inline with the E-class and new 5-series. It is good that Infiniti did not make it coupe-style with a useless backseat like the EX.

Also I have a feeling that the Essence will be released within a year after the LFA is out.

Wow, wow, so very nice! Spectacular interior, and awesome exterior. They hit it out of the ball park with this one! 5.6L DI VVEL V8, DAMN! No messing around huh Infiniti?

Seems like the new 5.6 is a pre-emptive strike against BMW's upcoming 555i. (V8 Twin-Turbo).

Smart move, hahaha.

IMO, the M will be doing double duty. Competing with the S/LS class and E/5 class. Thus the reason for such a luxurious interior and big power? Currently it is Infiniti's flagship car.

Looks nice, even though I was expecting something a bit more sleek, the XF/GS etc. have done that, the XJ as well. However the M35/45 has been more about size since it's their largest car, so it looks more bulky. Thanks for the pics! It's more evolutionary off the previous gen than I expected. The main theme is 'waves' throughout, with not as much counter-contrast like in Lexus, Mercedes styling. The outside evolves the prior gen greenhouse, similar quarter window, proportions etc, but with the 'wave'. The overall profile reminds me a bit of the Hyundai Equus, but the waveform is carried through with more interest. Inside also it is more of an evolution, down to the center stalk with the angled control panel. Overall, I think it's a nice update, but not the class leader in style. That being said, if it can perform like the prior gen had, it will do well.

what struck me with a big was that they don't plan to build a prototype for this car.

and then one big question popped into mind.

rattles.

Infiniti is notorious for interior rattles. If they don't build a prototype before mass producing this, how the hell will they know if this is drum tight or not?

this is where the Germans still do it right. many many prototypes. drum tight interiors.

btw, super high res photos at nissannews.com

Yup.

I think Infiniti will do O.K. offering it against the Lexus GS/LS, BMW 5/7-Series, and MB E/S-Class.

It may be fourth place in sales numbers, but they are sooo ahead of the game compared to Acura, Audi, and Cadillac.

Lexus, please take note. That is how an interior should be designed. This thing is a beaut.
I wonder if Infiniti is really going to bring back the Q. It would be very hard to outdo this car.

That interior is pure sex. Those curves, I love what Infiniti is doing with the leather seat patterns on the FX and now this. It's different.

The exterior is pretty gorgeous too. From the side those lines look incredible, but the greenhouse looks a little big compared to the rest of the body. Kind of has the Mercedes W140 greenhouse : body thing going on. It doesn't bother me too much. Overall it's a pretty nice package.
