If you think a Hyundai can’t be any more luxurious than the new Equus sedan, allow us to introduce the new Equus Stretch Edition.
Designed for the Korean market, this factory-built limousine starts with the already-posh Equus, and adds an extra 11 inches to both the wheelbase and overall length (for the record, a “base” Equus is already seven inches longer than a Genesis sedan). As a result, rear seat passengers gain an extra fourteen inches of legroom (in this regard, the car trumps the Mercedes-Benz S500L and the BMW 750Li) while the car gains a thick B-pillar.
Hyundai says the Equus Stretch Edition is available with either a 3.8-liter V-6, or a new 5.0-liter form of the company’s Tau V-8 (thus far, we’ve only seen this engine displace 4.6 liters in both the Genesis Sedan and the Kia Borrego) good for approximately 400 hp.
Pricing for the long-wheelbase Equus will run the equivalent of $113,000 to $122,000, although the armored version -- developed in-house for heads of state -- will carry a premium. Hyundai isn’t commenting on the possibility of the LWB Equus arriving in the U.S., but we wouldn’t be completely surprised to see either the smoothed grille shown here or the 5.0-liter engine appear in the short-wheelbase cars destined to arrive here in 2011.

The new Equus & Genesis is the BEST thing for the top car markers & car consumers. It should & will make Lexus BETTER! It's great to see Hyundai advancing SO fast in the car market. They will get better & better. In about 5to 10 years they will catch the top auto makers.

It's the "Limo" edition and that rear glass and door is bigger than the front and it makes the car look too elongated in the back, but not elongated enough to look like a real limo.
strange to say the least.
Oh Hyundai, stop trying so hard to be Lexus/MB and find your own identity...

I think too much is made of the fact that Hyundai products often look like those from other manufacturers. First of all, there are SO many different vehices in production today that it is difficult to design something (and especially something practical) that is truly original in looks. One of the last vehicles that actually TRIED something original, style-wise (the Pontiac Aztek) was almost universally panned as butt-ugly. Second, many (if not most) of Hyundai customers are not particularly interested in how their cars look (I've noticed this myself, while helping others to shop who are intersted in new Hyundais). Instead, they want a good price, quality, ease of driving, and Hyundai's long warranty.

There are only so many ways to place lamps into the headlight design and the LED running lights are quite common nowadays.
It's like stating that Lexus ripped off Ford's tri-bar grille (on both the LS600hL and the HS) or that Toyota ripped off the taillight "nub" for the Avalon from the previous gen 3 Series.
