4) Honda Fit - 29,722 - Proof that it's just too expensive - unanimous ratings say it should be #1 but it falls way short
5) MINI - 20,885
6) Chevrolet Aveo - 11,886
7) Kia Rio - 11,742
8) Kia Soul - 11,174
9) Suzuki SX4 - 10,672
10) Smart - 8,567
11) Scion xD - 5,741 - This is a superb value and should be selling way more than this
12) Nissan Cube - 3,882
13) Pontiac G3 - 1,275 - I have yet to see one and now Pontiac is dead
Wow I did not know the Yaris was selling so well. The Fit has fallen behind teh Versa, I did not expect that.

The Accent, wow I had no idea!! Surely the Hyundai advantage programs are really helping with sales. Kia with solid results.

The xD is a giant dud.

Yaris sales are impressive, but I think a big part is the sales to rental fleets.

nothing nonsense about the post you quoted and it's not inconsistent with what you wrote either. if supply is tight (due to not manufacturing at anywhere near capacity) then sure, dealers may not have enough at times but that doesn't mean toyota's doing anything like the sales #s they envisioned for the tundra. toyota likes a tight supply and doesn't like dealers to have tons of inventory.

the new tundra is a failure compared to toyota's plans. it's not a 'terrible' truck by any means, but the interior and ride quality are consistently criticized as poor.

Umm....what? I can't think of one vehicle that Audi makes that MB doesn't have a much faster option.

Appealing is a subjective quality.

MB offers a wide range of diesels as well as upcoming hybrids so, no Audi's aren't more efficient either.

Way to go Ford!
Agreed.

Can somebody please tell me why in the world our governments gave Chryco one single dime? They should be put out of their misery as it is very clear that nobody wants their vehicles.

They're good little cars. I picked one up for one of my businesses and it has been a fantastic car (for an econo box, 4 door, 4 banger...lol).

I love mine to death. 57,000 miles on mine and not a single hiccup. They don't seem to age or wear at all. I know a courier who has over 340,000 miles on his '07 Yaris (believe it or not) and only one repair has been needed (new alternator). He has original brakes, clutch, everything...

The ES and TL are respectively the volume cars for Lexus, Acura. The TL is actually the volume vehicle, its best selling (RX is for Lexus). Both cars had 70k a year sales goals, which they usually meet. Clearly we have a recession so those sales goals will not be met.

I and others have stated the new TL is a sales failure and below is the proof to show it. The 3 year older ES 350 is spanking the brand new TL in sales. Both are equally priced as well from 34k-45k.

Oct 08
4,141 - ES
4,340 - TL

Nov 08

4,116 - ES
3,160 - TL
Dec 08
5,236 - ES
3,607 - TL
Jan 09
2,971 - ES
2,317 - TL
Feb 09
2,575 - ES
2,490 - TL
March 09
3,225 - ES
3,231 - TL

April 2009

ES - 3,549
TL - 3,105
May 2009
ES - 4,125
TL - 3,375
June 2009
ES - 3,918
TL - 3,018
July 2009
ES- 4,393
TL- 3,309
August 2009
ES- 5,629
TL- 3,003

Great and surprising information.

When the 2010 ES comes out this fall it will be it's 4th model year. It's due for a refresh, no one know how extensive itwill be, so it will be interesting to see what it does for sales.

Maybe TL sales will have improved by then?

Ford is reporting first sales increase in 2 years. Cash for Clunkers I think worked.

Considering Lexus isn't really building them, dealers are not asking for them, its older and there is newer competition out andthere is limited demand for them, its going to be low.
