I recall that as well... something like 3 holes was a 6 cyl and 4 was an 8 cyl model

That may be true today, but not for the classic Buicks of the 50s and 60s. Buicks of that period (after the straight-8 and V8 models debuted), being an upmarket nameplate, did not use 6-cylinder engines until the famous 3.8L V6 debuted in the early 60's, and then it was only used on the compact Buick Special and Skylark, not the full-size Le Sabre. (The basic 3.8L, BTW, is still in use today, in a much-modified form).
The funny thing is that the people who do this think that people wont know the difference. I actually saw them on a dropped black 3GS in phoenix. The car looked hardcore because it was on the floor, but then the pidly little 10 mod makes his car look like he is a clown.imo
