Here's a video about an 89 year old woman and her 1964 car.
She has driven her car over 540,000 miles (at one point, over 120MPH!) - she knows more about it than most mechanics!
You might not last all 3:30 of it, but check out what's said at the 1:00 minute mark- knowing that she'd keep her car a long time, she bought all the replacement parts that she could with lifetime warranties - so her battery has been replaced, for free, SIXTEEN TIMES!!
I cracked up at that one!

In some ways, this was a fluke. The Plymouth/Dodge Slant-six engines and Torqueflite automatic transmissions of the period, in general, were more durable than their GM and Ford/Mercury competitors. Her car also seems to have been in a warm, dry climate that helped prevent a lot of rust from building up......a scourge on many cars in that period.

A couple weeks ago in the car section of the local paper was an article on the guy (New York, I think) who had 2 million miles on his 60'ish Volvo...think it was Guiness World record....Volvo gave him a new car at 1 million and 2 million...had like 7 engine rebuilds and 64 sets of tires, 700 oil changes, etc....I forget all the details but there are these people out there Iguess....
