GM May Change Logo (Green) Update pg 2: No Change to GM Logo
50 Billion of tax payer money to come up with a new logo, sell off there failing brands and kill old union contracts.

AS GENERAL MOTORS moves ahead with its revitalisation plan and works to get itself out of bankruptcy, the automaking conglomerate is reportedly considering a change of its corporate colours too.
Company insiders report that the background colour of GM’s logo may end up turning from blue to green - a gesture that GM hopes will tell consumers that it is a stronger, more focused organisation with a new emphasis on eco-friendly technology.
A final decision on the background colour has yet to be made, but if approved it will be the first major change to GM’s logo since the current design first surfaced in the mid-1960s. However with a drastic corporate reorganisation currently underway, branding is perhaps the least of GM’s worries right now.

Good idea. That will cost how many millions of dollars to implement nation wide?
GM Corporate Branding Department: "Let's try to persuade public perception of the company and be more environmentally correct."
"Sounds good. Trash the hundreds of thousands of pounds of stationary company wide and have everything printed again with green stationary."

^^Since General Motors is not changing their name, there would be no need to trash thousands of pounds of stationary and letterhead. Changing just the color of the logo would cost GM virtually nothing. They would simply use up what they had and would phase in the new color. It's not like the Millions spent by Federal Express to change their logos to FedEx.

That green back ground is to remind all of us taxpayers all the green stuff GM got from us and won't pay any of it back...
Oh yeah, GM should also change their initials to "FY" or better yet "FU"...

Stupidest idea I've heard this week.
And isn't blue just as "ecological" as green anyway? Lexus uses blue in their badge on hybrids. The whole sky and the ocean is blue (or represented by blue).
