You mean the Charger being the uglier of the two, don't you, not the Challenger? The Challenger is a pretty sharp-looking car.....and, except for the steering wheel and lack of bumper chrome, a pretty good replica of the original one 40 years ago.

That list is really extreme.

I wonder how a getrag would withstand the abuse of Launch Control?

both are not my flavor. They are heavy and handle poorly. The handle well for their size, but its no drivers car

What are you guys smoking up there ?
I was working in a photography studio several years ago on a Oldsmobile brochure. I had to take a seat out of a Cutlass for a interior shot. Under the seat was a whiskey bottle. This car was assembled in Canada & delivered to our studio untouched by the public.

6 months I anticipate Camaros will be nicely discounted. I'm seeing plenty of them here.

funny that you say you are seeing lots of them. I live in AZ and I have only sen 2 so far. I think the premium that dealers are expecting to get plus the fear may consumers have of buying GM trash is keeping sales numbers lower than expected

Hey I found this today. Its the next chapter in the Camaro trany problem

Last week, we told you about a problem some members of the Camaro5 forums who own V8-powered SS models equipped with the Tremec six-speed manual transmission were reporting. The owners were experiencing a broken output shaft on hard launch; a serious problem that will likely render their brand new Bowtie pony car immobile. General Motors responded by putting a hold on V8 Camaros with manual trannies at its Oshawa assembly plant, but until now, there hasn't been a definitive plan for replacing the affected transmissions.

Camaro5 is now reporting that GM will pick up the phone and call all owners who may have the defective gearbox, presumably to schedule time at the dealership to fix the problem parts. GM told Camaro5 that the calls will take place in a couple weeks, after an internal investigation regarding the issue is complete.

At this point, we don't know what happened to cause the problem with the Tremec 6060 transmission, nor do we know exactly what parts GM will need to repair. What we do know, however, is that we'll update you as soon as we have more information.

Why not just make it a freakin recall? There's no need to call owners and waste their time further. What are they going to say on the phone? "Uhhhh uhhhh uhhhh... yeah... broken gearbox... uhhh.... uhhhh.... yeah." Send them a letter in the mail and have them drop off their cars at the dealership. This has happened before and will likely happen again. Keep it easy.

The sad and ironic thing is this car was delayed over and over. They've had a good five years to get it right.

No car is bulletproof, no matter how much development you put into it, if the morons who buy it abuse it bad enough.

Even the much vaunted MkIV Supra wasn't immune to idiots at the controls. I can personally tell you exactly how to break the first gear synchro in the Getrag 233...

And how to fix it...
