They let some 25 year old woman design a car for herself. Sure it's slow, handles like a pig, and can barely carry anything, but it has that great SUV view - perfect for making those pesky lane changes (NSX, get out of the way because I can't see you), driving over small curbs and concrete parking lot obstacles (whoops!), and carrying a couple small pets/vegan girlfriends in the back.
Yay!
Yay!

Looking at the pic, I wonder how much Acura paid C&D to use that adjective.

"...and it looks just like my ped egg."
Ha!
It's sad though, isn't it? All that talk and here's the first new model from Acura since what, the underperforming RDX? I'll bet Soichiro is looking down from heaven thinking, "I hope my great grandkids can live off lawnmower sales. Who the ***** hired the bad guy in a Chris Tucker movie to run my company in the U.S.?"

Wow, even C&D did not have that many positive things to say about the ZDX.
So let's summarize:
- the vehicle is ugly (to a large number of people it seems)
- cargo space is limited
- estimated fuel economy is poor
- it is slow (when compared to the competition and given it's HP)
- handling is not great (especially compared to the competition)
- base price is expected to be quite high
- interior closely resembles several Honda models and Acura models, further perpetuating the "Honda Plus" reputation that Acura has
The category the ZDX competes in is a very niche market. Given it's stated purpose by Acura and the category it competes it, it is a complete failure (that is completely disregarding it's styling).
This "thing" is supposed to be focused on style and performance. After all, that is the reason why practicality is so compromised on this vehicle. The sad thing is that this vehicle's performance in terms of handling, acceleration, and braking is merely average.
The BMW X6, which is the main competitor is easily faster, handles better, and is simply an overall superior vehicle performance-wise to the ZDX.
So if the ZDX does not excel in performance, the vehicle really serves no purpose.
Style is highly debatable and subjective, and Acura has neither the prestige nor the reputation to sell a vehicle such as the ZDX simply based on styling *alone*. In fact, I can't think of any luxury/high-end automaker that sells on styling alone. BMW sells on more than just style, and even Ferrari sells on more than just style as well.

wow they f'd this one up BIG TIME. As if the X6 was enough to fill the quota for utterly useless vehicles Acura topped it by making theirs even uglier
