nice suv.
i guess living in the NE maybe that makes more sense. i bet here in FL they don't sell many x-drive 3's.

Thanks guys. I am very happy with the choice. I purchased my 09 335 xdrive coupe through Rallye BMW in Westbury, NY http://www.rallyebmw.com/. They are the largest BMW center in the NE. If you are looking for BMW's this is the place to go. It is a state of the art facility, very art deco, & consumer friendly. I configured my car with my CA to the specs of my liking. The ability to personalize a car w/o cutting & pasting is one reason I admire BMW. Here are the specs on my car
The 2009 335 has some much needed upgrades which was lacking in 2007 & 2008 models. I finally have a heated steering wheel for those cold NYC winters!! This option was not available in the 07/08 3 series cars The red interior & popular gray wood trim go so well together. The popular gray reminds me of the hard to get wood trim in the Lexus GS sport design. . Also, the 2009 3 is equipped with the new I-drive interface which was introduced in the new 7 series. The highlights of the new system are as follows:
New iDrive Controller with more intuitive operation
High resolution Control Display with vibrant screen
Revised iDrive menu structure
Interactive help with on screen description of function
Built in hard disc drive for improved speed of operation and data storage
More detailed navigation map
New navigation options and settings to enhance route planning
Multimedia capability with 8GB storage for audio files
Improved voice control
New layout for Favorite buttons with new direct function keys.
This new I-drive is sooooo much more improved & easier to use. The display screen is crisper in resolution.. Hey, I can finally play dvd movies while in park on the nav w/o modification! My 07 did not allow this.. I can also send info via google.com to the car. I love technology.
On to the drive.. Everything was as I remembered from my test drive. The drive was great and the power felt nice. Throttle response was immediate and delivery was silky smooth.. Well I was used to this with the old car. If you've ever driven a N54 equipped car, it feels like an NA car... No turbo lag at all.. Despite the slight front weight bias due to the xDrive system, the car still feels balanced. Steering is intuitive and, well, controlled just like the rear wheel drive 3. The suspension is great in my opinion. Very comfortable yet firm. I don't find the xdrive suspension lacking in performance or comfort at all. I can take the corners with confidence as before. The suspension is an in between of the 335i sport & non sport. The suspension tuning in the x-drive coupe is tuned more firm than that in the x-drive 3 sedan. I can live with this daily...
I didn't really open it up, of course (break in period and all). The car only had 7 miles on the odo (below)
I love the sound, power & feel of the 335 so I could not deviate from it.. X-drive was not available for the 335 back in 07. If it was, I would of bought it out right. I wanted to give the 335 a try back in 07 when it was the talk of the car world.. So, my CA worked out a great term for me to try it out for a few years.. I did and I liked it. Here comes the M3 in 2008.. What a car! If I lived in sunny California or Florida, this would be my daily. In NYC, this car would see partial duty. Why the hell didn't DASHOCKER get an M3??? I could of rolled the dice and get my self an M3 sedan which starts at $55k or the coupe that starts a few grand more but I didn't. IMO, the M3 rides harsher over dips & bumps compared to the 335. I can only imagine me in an me on the horrific pot hole riddled BQE 5 days per week . The 335 xdrive is more luxurious in feel & the twin turbo set up is more torquey than the banshee screaming M3. The M3 requires more throttle input that the 335 and feels lethargic in city driving. As a NYC daily driving machine (stomping the gas cruising around town) I will get more out of the 335 x-drive everday rain, sleet & snow. If you've every driven the M3, you really don't get much from the v8 until you are in the high rpm range. Lets not forget the 13mpg in the M3. It would consume more gas over the course of the year than the 335. Not that I am a miser but hey.. The 335 xdrive mpg is rated at 17 city 25 hwy. I can't wait for break in to be over.... I have wheel plans for this car along with other goodies..

Well I know your intentions but this was like a really long movie that should have ended at the 2hour mark. Anyway Congrats!! Nice ride. Just in time for the summer too. Beautiful color combo. The coupe life is oh so sweet!!

sweet ride man.
since you just recently got the 3, can you comment on the steering "feel" compared to your old GS.
What do people mean when they say bmw's provide more "feedback" to the user.

Congrats my man! My bro will be joining you real soon. Test drove the same car a few weeks ago.
By the way, you may need some new tires. Looks like you are running low on tread?
