Ford Flex with Ecoboost

The marketing is a little confusing on this. It's called the flex, but as far as I can tell, it's not a flex-fuel vehicle. And they take it a step further with "eco boost." If it's not flex-fuel and it doesn't have hybrid technology, it's not doing anything to help the environment. Maybe I'm missing something here. But it looks like they're intentionally trying to pass this off as a environmentally friendly vehicle, when it's really a gas hog.

i think Flex has more to do with its flexibility than its affiliation with Flex Fuel.

maybe. but it feels a little sketchy when you combine it with eco boost. it's hard to imaging that people don't think environmentally friendly when you say, "ford flex eco boost."

must be why that ecoboost flex gets 16 city, and my v8 explorer gets about that or better.

My V8 gets 15mpg in city/suburbia, 19-20 fwy at 75-80 (w/6speed tranny)

my car does about 14-15mpg, less with A/C.

about 21mpg on the freeways during winter.

Also, Ford's Build-Your-Own applet prices the Flex Titanium EcoBoost at $45,960 which I'm sure starts adding up once the options go in.

ford is putting the ecoboost engine in the 2011 F150. cant decide if i want the 5.0 v8 or the EB turbo v6 in the f150.
