Nope. He hates the HS anyway.

We know Toytoa/Lexus is moving to offering hybrids in all models. This is great for the next gen!

I wonder if the IS Hybrid will get the GS/LX/RX type hybrid AWD with one electric motor up front with the engine and one on each rear wheel, or if it will be the Prius/HS-type hybrid with one gas and one electric motor. The article doesn't say. But the IS already comes in one AWD form (The IS250 AWD), so, perhaps, the more expensive hybrid system with three electric motors may be unnecessary. Of course, with the regular IS having a longitudinal engine layout, a transverse-hybrid layout like the Prius/HS would be unlikely.

Not sure Mike..surely the IS will grow in size as the next GS to accommodate these batteries as well.

Like the compact Lexus thread I wonder will Lexus offer more than one hybrid engine choice in the same model ala how the Euros offer more than one diesel choice in the same model.

I think they should!

I don't see why the IS would have to grow just for that. The smaller Prius, Civic Hybrid, and even the tiny Honda Insight handle today's compact, efficient battery packs with room to spare.

As I see it, the only REAL reason for the IS to grow would be to actually get adults into the rear seat. The IS's present rear seat, for a 4-door sedan, IMO, is a joke.

LOL, you'd be surprised. It poured rain the day of my graduation and the only car nearby was my pop's IS. I crammed in the backseat with my sister, sister in law, and brother in law while my mom and brother shared a seat up front. Comfortable? No. Hilarious? Yes.

What about your Subaru?

Congragulations, BTW, on your graduation.

Well as we know the majority of cars get bigger every revision. WHile the GS didn't really grow, the LS has. Surely the next GS will gain size and so will the next IS. The A4 went from 180 inches to 185, a huge gain!
