I'm not saying have 4 or 5 year life cycles. I'm saying UPDATE the car after 5, instead of 10, years. Keep the same design with minor upgrades, but throw in the new engine and new transmission. I have no problem with a 10 year life cycle if they update the car. BMW 6 series has a 10 year life cycle. But they put in a new engine and new transmission at the midpoint.
Whe should have had the SC460 with the 380 HP V8 from the LS460 and the 8 speed tranny around 2007 already. It would be selling much better if it did too.

These cars usually have 10 year life cycles (MB SL until recently, 6 series, Jaguar XK). But they all get new engines and new transmission after 5-6 years, which keeps the sales strong for the second half.
I really don't know why Lexus did not make the SC460 2-3 years ago.
