The latest I've heard is that there will be a carrryover 2010 model, though it probably will not include the V8. The major redesign that was planned for 2010 has been put off until 2012 or 2013. Volvo's financial condition at the time will probably determine if we actually see the new redesign of not (or the termination of the present-generation model). However, the XC90, in some ways, has been Volvo's bread-and-butter vehicle, and its top seller worldwide....as I see it, they wouldn't cancel it without a good reason.
Frankly, as far as I'm concerned, they can keep on producing the present model. The sheet metal and interior design/quality on the present-generation model is extemely well-done.....and both are areas that many manufacturers often tend to cheapen on new redesigns to cut costs.
