quiet exhaust = no sound.

i'm talking about best SOUNDING exhaust. so by requirement, it must make noise.

it has a very distinct exhaust note when taken on the track

R32 has my vote for under 50k. A used RS-4 would be my top choice, but they weren't originally under 50k.

I personally think most of the note on the Mustangs come from the motor and it is not the exhaust noise you are hearing.

Z/G35/335i's exhaust note is pretty nice.

Regarding the Mustang GT's: I think they are too quiet/tuned down for my tastes. At startup, you get a nice rumble. But it disappoints once you drive it. That can easily be fixed with an axle back exhaust though. My brother owns a newer S197 Mustang GT and I've driven it extensively.
