the LS doesnt have the exhuast heat recovery, and the something something circulation (yet), nor does it have eco mode, and EV mode. THe hybrid components in the RX and HS are also smaller and lighter

The LS hybrid does have the electric-only EV mode. But they really are different approaches based off the hybrid drive system; with 438 vs. 187 hp. The LS hybrid debuted the Driver Monitoring System, the HS now offers it too, plus Remote Touch, HUD, etc.

I was not aware that the LSh has an EV mode. where is this button located? is it by the power and snow buttons?

Actually, it is not...the EV mode button is next to the AFS Off button, to the left of the steering wheel. It is the lower-leftmost button in this (admittedly wide view) pic, below the mirror adjustments, and above the coin drawer.

On the HS 250h, the EV mode (as you are aware) is below the Power button, and above the Eco button.

The LSh pic is a bit dark where the button is, but both use the same 'EV mode' logo; the LSh EV mode only works up to ~15 mph IIRC.

i saw one of these with a dealer plate on the 405 today. Ugly as sin. I don't care for its merits, it looks like an expensive corolla.

saw it last night - i guess the HS must be fairly roomy as Andy Richter could fit in it and drive it out.
