Default Infiniti Essence on US tour. Good brand exposure?

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...opanel..2.*#10

"it will travel to Louis Vuitton stores in major U.S. cities, including Las Vegas, Dallas, New York, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles"

infiniti's forever-unattainable halo car will be shown in multiple cities.

think this will boost brand image???

infiniti is tier 1.75 right now.

this might boost it to tier 1.5.

The Essence, like many ideas, help get people's attentions.

However, it will not sell cars.

For example, Acura has multiple concepts that will never make production. And you can't entice people with RWD V8s and offer FWD V6s only. And as we can prove, Acura recent concepts do not help sell real cars.

I prefer Hyundai's methods better: forget about concept cars, and sell actual production cars that will impress the masses, both regular folk and enthusiasts. That is how you sell cars...

I haven't heard one person mention this vehicle outside of loyal Nissan fans. Why are they even touring it, they are not going to build it.

They can't keep telling us that Infiniti has its own style when they continue to be Nissan rebadges for the most part and have to share Nissan cues b/c of it.

Also if they haven't heard LV is hurting right now. I suggest Infiniti subscribes to Bloomberg and read up lol.

Lets see buyer goes to LV, sees INfiniti Essence and asks store saleman a question....

"Why is there a Mazda parked inside the store"??
-Its not a Mazda its an Infinity
"A what?
-Infinity, they came here and dropped the car off
"So the speaker company is selling cars now"
-No I think Nissan makes them
"Oh well its nice when does it come out"??
-Well I don't think its going to be sold
"Then why is it here"??
-I think its to show people what an Infinity is
"Wait what is that again"?
-Its the car you are looking at, its supposed to influence the next M
"Next M? I thought you said Nissan made it. I have a M5, I love that car, I love BMWs
-No, its an Infinty M, not a BMW M
"WTF, well these pants are too tight anyway, I'm leaving"
"Oh".....I have a deposit down on a Lexus LF-A

I'm thinking they can recycle the name and bring out a lovely fragrance by Infiniti.

Ok. That's a pretty healthy dis of one of the most beautiful concept cars to ever come out a Japanese design studio. Harsh, I think.

I wish the salesman knew that it was Infiniti. He might have sold the car.

A predict a lot of these lame jokes and criticisms about Toyota as well as the LF-A will soon stop once you see the production LFA car, along with the other sports cars Toyota has coming .

Lexus's two top selling cars that make up the majority of the brand are Camry based cars. Lexus SUVs are still based on toyotas . Even the most expensive Lexus LX. Parent companies share things. It will never change as much as you'd like to think so. Japan is the only place where the current infiniti's are still badged as nissans. And before you say that infiniti's come from the Z's FM platform, the nissan skyline 350gt (infiniti g35) was designed before the Z

The Essence is a beautiful car. If you can't even appreciate that, then why even try to describe yourself as a car enthusiast.

LV is likely hurting now because of the crappy economy. Just because its selling less, doesnt mean its image is getting hurt. If LV decided to include infiniti in their marketing, then maybe they see something you dont

Infiniti has stated that this is design hints at the future they are going after. And, as expected, there is said to be some Essence-styling cues in the upcoming M.

What's so bad about touring a vehicle that hints at the future of this company?

Welcome to the world of Honda-Acura, Nissan-Infiniti, and Toyota-Lexus. Every one of these brands shares some styling cues with its mother branch. But the key here is distinguishing itself enough to be seen as exclusive. Some are just doing a better job at it than others.

I think Infiniti has been doing a good job at distinguishing itself from "just another Nissan". Just because it has a Nissan badge in its home country, doesn't make it any different. What if Lexus badged all of its current lineup as Toyota in Japan? What would change? Nothing. Besides marketing, its still the same exact vehicle, with its own distinguishable-enough styling cues.

This Infiniti coupe looks like the Aston Martin One-77 pictured below.

Infiniti has captured the sleek Euro exotic lines with the Essence.

Congrats to Infiniti. They continue to shock me over and over again. Many car companies continue to talk about being sporty but in reality there not.

Huh? All Infiniti is doing right now is talk. The Essence is a PURE concept. It will NOT be going to production. Even if it were to go to production, it would be years before we actually see it.

When Infiniti actually releases a production car close to the Essence, then we can talk. The Infiniti G and M have been a success, but they there is nothing "shocking" about them.
