The Lincoln MKX is a mid-size luxury crossover (CUV) from Ford's Lincoln division and a de facto successor to the Lincoln Aviator luxury SUV. It debuted as a 2007 model in December 2006 as a production version of the Lincoln Aviator Concept shown at the 2004 North American International Auto Show.[1] Other than unique styling and some premium features, the MKX is closely related to its sister vehicle the Ford Edge, sharing Ford's CD3 platform, powertrain, body panels, and other design elements. The MKX is of unibody construction and is natively front-wheel drive with available all-wheel drive. Its sole powertrain is a 3.5 L Duratec V6 mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The MKX can seat up to five people. The MKX is a stark contrast to its predecessor, the Aviator, which was based on the Ford Explorer's rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive body-on-frame platform, came with a standard V8, and was larger with seating for up to seven people. The 2007 MKX debuted with a base MSRP of $35,770 USD, ranging up to the mid-$40,000 USD range when fully optioned.[2] The MKX is built alongside its Ford Edge sibling at Ford's Oakville Assembly Plant in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

Arguement solved. Sheesh!!!!

For further reference,, the only relation that the Toyota Highlander has to the Lexus RX is that they share the same basic platform, which they both share with the Toyota Camry. Other than that, nothing else. RX is badged the Toyota Harrier in Japan. Highlander is badged the Toyota Kluger over there; 2 different vehicles.

Called the Highlander in North America, the Kluger shared the Toyota Camry platform with its Lexus RX/Toyota Harrier cousin and came in five and seven-seat configurations, and became a sales success for Toyota in a number of markets across the world

The Edge/MKX are pure ugly. $50,000 for that???? There is so much better for the price. Even for $40k.

Bit is correct. Rust forms, in a damp environment, on virtually all brake rotors, except for some expensive supercars with ceramic brakes. And the rust on the ground is clearly not from that vehicle, either.

I didn't actually see any rust on the rotors in the shots, though.....even with the wheel image blown way up.

The original Lexus ES250 and Camry was also a rebadge......perhaps the purest rebadge Lexus ever did, though the IS200/300/Toyota Altezza was an obvious rebadge as well. Customers weren't fooled, though......the ES250 simply didn't sell. The IS300 sold (except for the SportCross wagon), but not in big numbers. Lexus, in the meantime, learned that their products have to be differentiated from Toyotas, and, today, for the most part, are.

Check the pic below from the OP and you will see the discoloration thru the spokes. That is the rust that is being referred to. As far as the formation, I agree with what was said about it happening to ALL cars which have been sitting for more than a few days; with the few exceptions.

I've read that a stainless (non-rusting rotor) certainly looks better but is not as effective. Anybody with motorcycle tech background that can chime in with facts on this topic please do ?..........
