You have to figure personal vehicle costs in a job like this too.

Any info you have is appreciated.

he's a long time family friend...

i honestly don't know his income, but he's living comfortably with his wife and child.

He is reimbursed for the use of his own vehicle...per mileage, I would assume. But it's suited his lifestyle for some time now and he hasn't complained.

I know he's thinking of approaching Toyota (or has) on his accomplishments so far, hoping they would show some sort of appreciation and recognition for it. Haven't heard anything on it though...I say at around 500k miles, Toyota will start to keep a better eye on him.

Thanks. Yeah, he has said he hasn't had much luck with Toyota. I think because there's a lot of high mileage Toyota's out there. But few, if any people have done this rate of mileage in a personal car especially with almost no issues.

He'll be at about 500,000 in about a year and a half.

That is pretty impressive. While I love driving, I can't imagine myself doing long distance drives at the rate he does every day. Kudos to him.

What kind of gas mileage does he average?

I wonder if that's close to what some big-rig long haul truck drivers log................

He used to average 44 mpg. At his current mileage, it has come down to about 36, he says. He says a new fuel pump and O2 sensor would bring it back up.

He finally took some pictures today and posted them up! Last time we saw the car was at 150K.

Does this car look like it has 354,000 miles on it?

He recently put an [ugly] bra on as a result of 354K of highway rock chips. The rest of the cars seems brand new though.

The headlights look like they've taken a beating though. He should have gotten a clear bra instead of the ugly leather bras.

I am very impressed. I am surprised at how well maintained the car looks. It doesn't look like a beater to me
