2012 Mercedes ML-series spied
Is Mercedes downsizing? These latest pictures from our spy snappers seem to show that the 2012 ML SUV is looking a little smaller than before.
At first glance the new ML doesn’t look like a departure from the old, but look a bit closer and you'll see shorter overhangs and a more conservatively proportioned body.
What's more, the door handles are higher, the wing mirrors, rear door and roof rack have all had a slight facelift and the rear window appears higher and smaller.
It’s speculated that the ML’s engine line up isn’t in for too much of a change. The V6 and V8 power plants that we’re used to will all make appearances in more powerful and economic forms. However there is a rumour of a plug-in hybrid featuring an 18-mile electric range. This has already been seen on 2007’s ML450 Hybrid concept.
There are also rumours of a 570bhp, twin-turbo V8 for the AMG version.

Not a large fan of the ML, the first generation was awkward looking, and the current one is rather plain, especially compared to it's much more attractive big brother (I love the GL), but this looks very nice.
