Default hyundai embracing future. going all out with the sheet metal

look at that. that's the next hyundai tuscon.

the production version will be toned down a little,
but just look at all those creases. that's character right there.

too many cars have flat or bulbous sides...... like the RX

will be based on the squirrel-looking ixonic

So if it looks even 90% like that concept it's already leagues better looking than CR-V and Rogue.

The sharp fender flares remind me of how BMW has been hulking up their cars to depict muscular shoulders and hips...

i'm sure hyundai has much more ambitious plans than competing with those two.

How on earth can we compare a concept pic to a production RX? Please explain? I find the front end offensive, it should be illegal. It also reminds me of this, the Ford Kuga we don't get.

Either way, I expect that the front grille will indeed LOOK BETTER than the "bucktooth grille" of the CR-V

Anyways:

Neat side profile

Why would that be? Tuscan is in the same segment and they are among the best sellers. What exactly are the main competitors for this CUV in your view?

I didn't mention RAV4 because currently the RAV looks better than both CR-V and Rogue.

btw, I think the CRV is the best-selling SUV in the US. It looks pretty good to me, with decent wide track and unique roofline.

July sales of some popular CUV's. Looks like the Tucson needs a new design:

20,241 Escape
19,151 CRV
15,912 RAV4
6,770 Rogue
1,106 Tucson

i dont know why automakers cant mass produce the concept cars that they make...they would probably sell alot more with the concept designs sitting out on the showroom floors!!

that concept looks really good!

The CRV sells about 10% more unit than the RAV4, I think its mostly due to CRV loyalist. Beside a nicer interior, the CRV really have nothing over the RAV4. The RAV4 have a V6 engine, AWD lock, more cargo space and more toys.

Maybe I did take it the wrong way.

But yeah, I like Hyundai. It's hard not to admire what they are doing.

Nice BMW rip-off .

Too many vehicles are starting to copy BMW, or are adding ridiculous character lines/wavy curves that go nowhere and are not cohesive with the rest of the vehicle.

If you want to point out concept vehicles, two can play at that game:

Here is the 3RX:

Not sure what your definitions of "flat" and "bulbous" are, but I don't see it with the RX.
