Did you go to Rack Attack in Kits? They might have had a roof solution for you.
Also, I can see our favorite RCMP guys giving you some greif for not being able to see the full plate (especially if you're riding the North Shore, those guys have nothing to do over there).
I'm curious how that changes the ride in your car (if at all).

the hitch and rack ran me $350.
The car can't be lowered because it wont have enough ground clearance, the hitch will will bottom out on the road over bumps.

Cool to the the Lexus hitting the mountains. I wouldnt worry about the compromise. It seems like you made the best descision based on your hobbies. You could have your cake and eat it to for 900 dollars. Its an expensive cake
