Nope. Toyota except for the Tundra and Sequoia has not jumped on the E85 bandwagon. IMO, ethanol-based fuels are a joke. Biodiesel can be made from WVO.

To those who are unaware, biodiesel & E85 are alternative fuels. These fuels were created to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. And to answer your earlier question about biodiesel filling stations in my area Och, there are 4 in my immediate area. Hell, there are only two Mobil gas stations in my immediate area and that is my gasoline of choice.

Knock off the jabs?? Flip a few pages back & read some of the posts by Och... A bit long on the trigger pull there.. It is a valid question. Do you have a valid answer to my question before I am asked to leave "your blog" ??

Ethanol is IMO an utter waste, that corn needs to be used for food not fuel. E85 also can eat a cars gas lines over time. It maybe part of the solution to some but it has negatives.

Isn't E85 more expensive than gas? And doesn't the car perform and get less MPG with E85, I remember reading that, so why would E85 be a good alternative?

E85 is about 30 cents less per gallon than regular gasoline. But you are correct in that gas mileage suffers. So essentially you break even when it comes to fuel costs. However, E85 does burn cleaner. Lex is right though, some cars designed to run on E85 have had problems from the fuel.

Well looks like E85 is cheaper, but not cheaper to run

Right now petrol is simply the most common and the most "convenient" fuel. It is readily available, there are no maintenance issues that it causes, and the RX is simply making the best of it.
