Toyota to close NUMMI plant

While it does suck for NUMMI workers, the city of Fremont and California in general, I really think Cali dug its own grave here. Not to mention the UAW propaganda machine is now set in motion.

True but very sad. California is not a manufacturing friendly state. There is still time for another auto manufacturer to take the place of GM and then Toyota will stay. Which auto manufactuer will step up to the plate? Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Ford, Volkswagen, Daimler or BMW? C'mon guys show us what you got...

That's a shame. I have a few friends and family friends that work at Nummi. I think Toyota should reconsider and close that Baja California plant, and a few of the plants back in the midwest and south. I've been to many plant tours and it's amazing how TPS works. It's sad that they canned the plant tour as of recent.
