Default IS F "Evolution"- is there truth to the rumors after all?

These spy pics of the Lexus IS-F Evolution are very exciting considering that it’s near the end of its 150kg (330lbs) weight loss program.

Reports have come out previously about the hood, roof, front and rear fenders/bumpers and trunk lid being made of carbon fiber to drop up to 150KG in weight.

These pics confirm the addition of a rear wing and highly supportive carbon backed Recaro seats. Also confirmed previously are a proper Torsen LSD and revised suspension to offer a firmer ride over standard. These pics could even already be showing the production ready examples of the BBS alloy wheels to be included in the IS-F Evolution package. It’s been reported that the development code name for the IS-F Evolution is 182A.

Excellent point & far more marketable. I don't believe Lexus will ever release a IS with factory installed Carbonfiber body panels, maybe a hood but even that will be expensive to meet Lexus quality standards.

Coupes often weigh more than sedans. The current G37 coupe is heavier than the sedan. Same with the E46 3-series (the E92 is actually a few pounds lighter than the E90). This is not always the case, but often the extra stiffening to make up for the lack of a B-pillar exceeds the weight of said pillar and the extra set of doors.

Shoddy photoshop. It would be nice if it where true (and not too expensive), but I'll take an "I'll believe it when I see it" stance for this one.

Yeah a $100,000 IS will be a tough sell

Updated with pics.

Previously this sounded like a crazy pipe dream to me, but these pictures look sort of legit. Yes, low quality, but they look like cell phone pics and to me that makes them somewhat believable.

It would be hard to photoshop all of those design cues on such a low quality picture. The interior especially seems like it would be a hard thing to chop.

Who knows...

Most coupes have B-pillars too...

I'm gonna say fake. Look at the floating side mirror.

With a weight reduction and a real LSD, I think the IS F can keep up with the E90 M3.
