LOL with the ghetto fab perspective. On the real, check out the new I-drive interface if you get the opportunity. There is nothing confusing about it.. Here is a factory version of the cut & splice carputer joint that some are putting into their rides.. I will download some of the applications once available..

All jokes aside, I think its awesome though I am VERY VERY scared of how distracting it can be if you can use it while driving.

When this tech from the 7 goes down to the 5, 3 etc, it will be a HUGE selling point though odd a non driving tech will be a BMW selling point.

in the current bmw, the dvd video playback is disabled unless car is stopped. but of course, it's something that's defeatable and people start putting in hacks already

i suppose all these new internet features are also only accessible when the car is stopped. but if people can defeat it as easily, then it can become a real big problem

Horrible feature . I know it will become a selling point, but to see this on a BMW specifically ... whatever happened to "the ultimate driving machine"?

BMW is becoming "the ultimate distracting machine".

It's up to the driver to be responsible enough to use it. Considering I know plenty of people who actually check their twitter and facebook while driving on their phone, at least here you could argue that they won't have to bother playing with their phone to do it. (Which is just as distracting, more so because I've seen two accidents that have happened with someone trying to pick up the phone they just dropped while maneuvering)

people are already having problems focusing on driving when on the road

this is just going to be more distraction for those bad drivers...

but from technical point of view, i expected nothing less from BMW
just wondering if it is using 3G, WiMax or what kind of network to get connected while on the road...
