After all this time, I'm left feeling a little meh about this car. The blue looks nice, but the car is very plain and doesn't differentiate itself from the regular F10's imo. I know it's supposed to be about understated luxury but it seems to lack presence in these pics.
The interior is ok, but again, looks almost identical to the regular F10's. Light years from the luxury that a Panamera brings to the table.
The big questions, of course, still remain. What will actual performance specs look like? How much will it weigh? How much will it cost?

What's with the SUV-style ride height? Just look at how high that rear end sits off the ground
.
This gets a big MEH from me. The front and rear ends are decent, both front and rear bumpers are okay but somewhat tacky. My biggest problem is the side profile. For an M car, it is VERY bland and those rims are disappointing IMO.
I know the spirit and history of M cars, and how the M5 is supposed to be understated. Historically, the M5 is also not supposed to have tacky-looking bumpers, or an SUV-style ride height.

*UPDATE: Official BMW documents have the 2012 M5 listed at 560 horsepower at 6,000 - 7,000 rpm and not the earlier, leaked 552. The M weighs in at 4,287 pounds.*
After months of spy shots, we've finally got official photos and information on the all-new F10 2012 BMW M5.
552 560 Horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 502 pound-feet of torque between 1,500 and 5,750 rpm from a twin-turbo V8 with a redline of 7,200 rpm. 7-Speed dual-clutch transmission. (Though we know they're testing a manual.) 0-60 comes up in 4.4 seconds-- last time we tested one it managed the task in 4.8, 4.5 with rollout. Tires, as we know, are 265/35ZR20 in front and 295/30ZR20 out back. We also know they're testing both Michelin Pilot Super Sport and Pirelli P-Zero tires.
We now have a full Gallery Post of all available images.
**Update 2: All of the official specs are out, data after the jump.**

Front suspension is a double-track control arm with M-specific elastokinematics, small, negative steering roll radius and anti-dive geometry while the rear is an integral-V multi-arm axle with M-Specific elastonikematics, spatial suspension with anti-squat and anti-dive geometry. The rear diff is a trick Active M Differential with an electronically controlled multi-plate limited-slip with a degre of lock between 0 and 100 percent.
Brakes on the 2012 M5 are six-piston fixed calipers all around.
Some of the buttons we saw in a prototype are also explained: You can switch the engine between Efficient, Sport and Sport Plus. The transmission has S 1-3 with 3 offering the most aggressive shifts. The 2012 M5 also has dynamic damper control with Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus settings.
The interior of the M5 feature bespoke M sport seats in "fine-grain Merino leather," iDrive, a 10.2 inch display screen and an exclusive Aluminum Trace intrerior.
Two M Buttons
For 2012, the BMW M5 gets not one, but two M Drive buttons on the left side of the wheel. This enables two pre-saved configurations of engine, transmission, damping and stability control to be saved. And not just for performance, the example given is that M1 can be the go fast race setting, while M2 is a comfort setting. MDM or DSC Off settings require secondary confirmation by the driver via iDrive once the M button is pressed. M-specific information like shift lights and rev counter show up on a full-color heads up display.
Selected Specs:
Length / Width / Height (mm): 4,910 / 1891 / 1456
Wheelbase: 2964
Track F/R: 1627/1582
Standard driving stability systems: DSC incl, ABS, ASC and MDM, CBC (cornering brake control), DBC (dynamic brake control), Dry braking function, dading compensation, start-off assistant, dynamic damper control, active M differential linked to Integrated Chassis Management (ICM).
Steering: Hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering with M-specific Servetronic
Power-to-weight (kg/kW: 4.5
Output per liter (kW/l): 93.7
0-1,000m: 21.9 seconds
