Yes so typical.
'
Last I checked the "sport" brand doesn't offer an exotic or car that can come close to matching the LFA. Both brands have gaps in their lineups.
We have been speculating that a GS F should arrive with the next generation. As I posted, the M5 wasn't created overnight, it took DECADES before it arrived on the market. Lexus just 3 years ago brought their "F" marque to the market.
BMW is the sport brand its logical for them to have more "M" cars even though as of late they seem to slap "M" on anything (X5 M, X6 M, turbo 1M with the same engine as regular BMW models) much to the dismay of "M" purists.
It would be great for a GS F to arrive but I don't expect it to topple the M5 or anything at all.

There's no reason to attack BMW here. The M's in BMW are not the same car or just slapping it on.
Toyota has more than enough capital, I'd love to see another Supra and more F series cars like I said.

i dislike the fact that they're slapping M badges on many cars, but they are very different from the base models.. and all but the new 1M have different engines compared to regular BMW models.

Still just more renderings.
I really hope that the F10 M5 differentiates itself a little further from the M3 than this rendering does. All I see with this is a current M3 but slightly bigger. If this is the actual direction BMW is going, Audi and them are going to have a pretty boring line up.
A4/6/8 and 3/5/7 = the same design =
P.S. That being said, this car is still high on my list as I do expect the performance to overcome some potential design issues.

One seats 5 the other 4.
One is $120K, one is $160K. (CDN pricing )
I guess we'll just have to see when it actually finally gets here how it truly competes.

i still dont' see people cross shopping between m5 and panamera though

The Chinese market is becoming increasingly vital for automakers like BMW, which could go a long way towards explaining why the Bavarian company has chosen the world's most populous nation as the location to unveil such new debuts as the long-wheelbase 5 Series and the Concept Gran Coupé.
Now reports indicate that BMW is planning on returning to the Shanghai Motor Show in April with a conceptual preview of the new M5 performance sedan. Based on the latest 5 Series, the new M5 is tipped to carry a 600-horsepower version of the 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 put to work in the X5 M and X6 M crossovers. Westerners won't feel too left out, however, as the concept version in Shanghai is anticipated to be followed by the production version at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the Fall.
In parallel to the M5 – and at the other extreme of the range – BMW is also working on the 5 Series hybrid, anticipated to mate a 306-hp turbo six with a 54-hp electric motor for possible debut alongside the M5 in Shanghai as well.
The biennial show in China is also rumored to the debut show for the 2012 6 Series Coupe.
