Wow wow, what's a big disappointment especially the front end!

imo, the more chrome, the better. you cannot have too much chrome, and now it matches the doors of the GS, LS and RX. good direction.

the chrome and wood on the glove box door is a bit weird and unlike lexus.

overall nice changes, except for the fog lights, which remind me of the IS300

look at that huge tacky chrome strip at the bottom of the doors.

jesus christ the front end doesn't look elegant anymore. it looks cheap and unintegrated.

that giant chrome grille in the front makes it look like a toyota. The whole thing has that cheapened Acura effect.

Even a hyundai genesis looks more luxurious than this.

sad.

Props for FINALLY putting in a usb port.

looks like they brought back the sh@t brown color.

that is one huge gaudy piece of stick-on chrome:
That Camry's beige is my mom's favorite color on the ES and I thought it was very elegant and luxurious IMO.

More wood !!!! YAY !!!

I like the extra trim on the glove box. It's easier to put the trim on the glove box by redesigning the cover slightly, but the piece would have looked better running along on the dash on large piece above the glove box though... something like this...

whoever was responsible for this round of refreshes needs to be fired.
they didn't destroy the GS too much.

but they totally F'd up the ES and LS for 2010.

you thought stick-on wood was bad....

lexus went and stuck on slivers of chrome around the steering wheel buttons, and a little chrome around the glove box and the center a/c vents:

According to my experience, majority of the people who actually buy the ES prefer wood and chrome.

Does anyone of you guys who seem to "hate" this round of ES refresh actually own an ES or planning on buying one in the future?

Huh?

...

That's what I thought...

^^^ After this refresh? I would not take it for free.....

I dont know about the rest of you, but buying a car for me is like buying new clothes. The material should feel nice, it should fit you well and it should look good. I'm sorry, but latest Lexus designs do not look that good.

I used to have an ES350 before moving to the GS350

the interior cosmetic updates on this ES are tacky. The same tackiness that comes with wood stick-on kits.

The designers were brainstorming how to update..... and one genius said,
"I know !!! Let's stick chrome everywhere and call it the 2010 model !!"

I never liked the design of the current ES and GS interiors. Always prefered the IS and LS designs. The refresh's exterior looks worse than the current generation ES, which is one of my favorite Lexus exterior designs.

I like the new interior, it's better than the 2009 one.

But the 2009 exterior is better. The ugliest thing about the 2010 are the fog lights.

the chrome all over this car reminds me of the different trims of a toyota model.

the CE(lots of black plastic), LE, XLE, Limited.....

This would be like the XLE. Extra chrome stick-ons everywhere, making it look like an afterthought.

We get it you don't like it, can you move on? You don't like any refresh. You don't like much anything quite frankly. Every thread, some pics, some lines added and some odd critique. Every car is ugly. We get it.

Some people will think it is fine. Again, people ASKED for more wood, chrome and got it. Now WE ARE COMPLAINING about what people ASKED FOR.

I think we will find that with this new version Lexus ES350, Lexus knows it's customers well, and the sales will continue to reflect it.
