It's quite obvious how cars are perceived in terms of risk by insurers.

The driver and not the cost to repair or replace a car, is the greatest influence.

I think some older cars are more expensive to insure due to age and availability of parts.. But its a Honda so there should be parts everywhere..

companies are required by law to produce parts for the car 25 years after its been discontinued, so parts isnt the issue. The prelude had a higher risk for accidents I guess since its driven by younger people more often so hire premiums. The IS was worth 4x as much but it cost less

why the ISF is more to insure than R8 ??
And where is the Evo, With a bunch of discount, I still paid for it almost ~1200/6 month

Predictable enough in general, but doesn't tell the whole story with cost of insurance.

Don't laugh. It happens, every day......and it could happen to YOU. It happened to the daughter of a one of my neighbors, just a few doors down from me. Poor girl ....she had just bought a new Hyundai Elantra; only two weeks old. She's inside, packing up for college, and some a** hole sideswipes her rear fender/bumper, takes off, and doesn't even leave a note........and no witnesses. Fortunately, in VA, brand-new cars, by law, are automatically covered by your existing insurance policy for 30 days (even if you don't report the new purchase), so her own insurance ended up stuck with the bill. I knew some good body shops and managers, and was able to give her some good recommendations.
