I know many of you are fans of the E30 M3 stuffed with the V10. Here is one in action versus a modded M5. Enjoy!

I remember loving that E30 widebody M3 back in the day. I bet that car surprises everybody when he decides to open it up.

That is one ridiculously fast M3.

While I can appreciate the time, effort and funds that a project like that takes....I'll never understand it.

Had they stuffed the V10 into the new E92 I'd be really interested, but why put so much effort into an old, mediocre car?

Clearly you missed the build on this vehicle. It is old only in appearance. The entire suspension, transmission, and engine with engine management are cutting edge. It will not only out run them in a straight line, but it will drive away from them on a road course quite handily by virtue of its modern suspension and very light weight.

That's precisely what I mean though. Why sink all that time, effort and cash into an older platform? Why not capitalize on all of the existing improvements in a current model and take it even further?

I know you are very much into the technical aspect of vehicles....I just don't comprehend it.... I fully admit that I simply cannot grasp why go to this length.

Why spend the money on an E92 when it's just going to be completely stripped down and rebuilt?

As much as I love the E60 M5, I'd take that E30 in a heartbeat.

Why do this? Why not. It's a classic design with all the new goodies. True definition of a sleeper.
