Default James Remar replaced as voice of Mr. Lexus?

With the HS launch ad discussion: Lexus HS ads, the observation was made that a new voice was narrating them. However, for the prior IS C and RX debut ads, they were narrated by James Remar, including:

IS line ad: "Scream" (at 0:16)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuD8-OUCRe8

However, I saw the same ad airing a few days ago, same ad but new voice: (at 0:20)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqVRmZOlglY

Has Lexus changed the voice of "Mr. Lexus"? For one, I do think the new voice sounds a bit more 'new age'...

I (like most) selected my Lexus based on other criteria.

Ah, insider info from our CL editor flipside909...apparently they are using multiple voices, depending on the model:

So, according to this info, Mr. Remar is still doing voiceovers for Lexus.

The "new" voice is quite unforgettable. James Sloyan's voice was so different that once he got bumped by Lexus and went to Mitsubishi, most people were shocked.

Doesn't matter, Lexus I think is a little bit in the middle ground of not knowing where they want to go. Quality has dropped, sales have slowed, designs are mostly so-so at best, so they just need to do "something." The problem is, their something is just being more middle-ground and in the pack.

Correct. Lexus wanted to give each ad campaign it's own character with different VO artists. I still miss Mr. Sloyan's narrations, but it's good to have variety.

Give me a break. Mitsubishi has some of the most unimpressive vehicles in the American market....they're about on a par with Dodge.

Yes, I heard one of the Mitsu ads, easy to recognize his voice. Like you I wasn't impressed.

Well, the ads, and his voice, are one thing, but take a look at, and test-drive, some of their vehicles, especially the Eclipse, Outlander, and Endeavor, and you'll see what I mean. They have, IMO, about the same overall build and material quality as a Dodge Caliber or Jeep Compass....which is not saying much.

I recently reviewed, by request, the Eclipse convertible and the Outlander, and while not total POS's, I found both vehicles very cheaply built and rather unpleasant to drive.

Yes, I've rented a couple of those, that's more exposure than I want to Mitsu products.

I'm actually rather surprised Hyundai didn't pick up Sloyan when Lexus dropped him. Mitsubishi seems like a really odd one to go to.

I could see Hyundai using that voice of his to advertise the Genesis, and of course the upcoming Equus.
