Lots of kinds of cars in Hong Kong.
However, the most popular tends to be these types of vehicles below:

![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/ba/HKFalconTaxi_20071109_.jpg/800px-HKFalconTaxi_20071109_.jpg)
There are hundreds of these vehicles all over Hong Kong, Macau and Guangdong (basically within the entire Pearl River Delta Region). There are so many of these over there and cause of that, many consider it as the people's car in those places.
It's simply unbelievable

i didn't look at every luxury car there of course, but of all the lexus, bmw, audi, and mb i paid attention, they all have leather seats.

i am not 100%, but i tend to think hk is more densely populated? either way both cities are way too populated for my taste
i think euro cars in japan still have their "premium status", no doubt

Wow, thanks for the pics Henry ![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Can't wait to go back there again ...
What an ***
I've never had anyone telling me not to take pictures in any dealerships ...
Well, as soon as you walk out of the HK airport, there should be at least half a dozen S-class airport limos waiting outside to pick up passengers, I saw them everytime I go back, plus the major hotels use a lot of S-class sedans for their hotel limos too. + tons of privately owned ones. So yes, they are EVERYWHERE.
I heard 2 years ago that the S-class had 49% of the market in it's class in HK, don't know if it's still true though ...
Yes, HK has quite a few exotics too. I have only seen the Vanquish three times on the road, & one of them was in HK a couple years ago ...

hong kong is a much smaller place and there is only one lexus dealership (if i heard that correctly). i visited there and talked to a very nice sales. but i guess the GM wasn't too happy (only guy in dealership, not from hong kong, probably looked way too young...) so after a few shots he said can't take pics at the dealership. oh well

you are right about all the limos and hotel cars, almost all of them are s classes, and most of them are the newest model!
i wonder if i go up to the rich areas, how many exotics i get to see. they also seem to like to come out at night for joy ride, one evening around 11 or 12 i saw a few exotics passing by

Also agree that HK is cool to visit, but living there is another story. The uncomfortable and frequently stormy summer climate, oppressive population density, general big-city rudeness and strongly local culture are not for everyone. 90% workers commute by transit.

Nice pics, Henry! I can't stand summer in HK either. The heat and humidity drives me nuts.
I think most people in HK don't really need to drive because of the ample public transportation around. Most who have cars see them as status symbols and probably can afford a pretty penny (registration, gas, parking rent, not to mention extra tariffs on the cars)...so it's probably not surprising to see a higher number to luxury/exotic cars on the road in HK.

*Raises hand*
HK and Tokyo aren't comparable in density. They are very geographically different.
HK = pockets of extreme density jammed onto seashores, valleys and small rocky islands. 70% land area is uninhabited, but sunlight and wind blockage by soaring apartment towers is a problem. Lots of tunnels.
Tokyo = a consistently dense sprawl over a large, mostly flat plain surrounding Tokyo Bay. No land left untouched, but a lot more houses and 3-5 storey bungalows.

I've stayed in the south Island side a few times before. It was a street of very densely packed 3000-sqft single family homes, and the 2-car garages have no doors so I could see the cars in every house. I'm serious, driving down the street it goes something like: Bentley, Porsche/Maserati, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, MB S-class/BMW 7-series... and the occasional Lambo, Lexus and some Toyota Alphard vans. It's somewhat surreal.
Also agree that HK is cool to visit, but living there is another story. The uncomfortable and frequently stormy summer climate, oppressive population density, general big-city rudeness and strongly local culture are not for everyone. 90% workers commute by transit.

Anyways, for those who've been to the Grand Lisboa Hotel and Casino building (which is just beside Wynn Macau), then this would be already familiar to you.

Really high-end stuff![Cool](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)
Yup. Lots of things like this in the main territory. Though, of course, it doesn't mean that the richest in HK are just centered on the mainland. They can be everywhere.
For instance, there are lots of Alphard (the latest one) that always make their rounds along Haiphong Road. Damn, that vehicle really has presence cause it is higher-end and thus for 'coolness' points hehe.
I do believe though that there would be more private automobiles in New Territories (especially in areas like Tuen Mun and Sai Kung) since the taxation doesn't seem as heavy there or something.
