they're not gonna pull the plug on it. They'll just pull an SC430, and keep the same shell for 10 years, and modify the bumpers and engine a little bit

Audi Market Share Continues to Grow Through September 2009
HERNDON, Va., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ --

•Audi sales total 7,209
•Clean diesel Audi Q7 mix at 38 percent of model line sales
•A5 Coupe sales driven by new 2.0 engine
•U.S. market share CYTD hits 8.3 percent in segment

Audi today announced sales of 7,209 vehicles for the month of September. Johan de Nysschen, President, Audi of America, expects the brand to record another increase in market share, to 8.9 percent for September in the import luxury segment.

Audi dealers continue to see strong demand for the Audi Q7 TDI clean diesel. TDI sales were 38 percent of the model mix for the Q7, well above company projections and an indication that American consumers are interested in efficiency and function.

The all-new Audi Q5 crossover is one of the fastest vehicles to leave the lot of any model in the U.S. Dealers reported that the Q5 stayed on their lots 13 or fewer days during September. The A5 Coupe proved a top brand performer, also, up 19 percent year-over-year. Much of the model's success is attributed to its new 2.0 turbo fuel injected engine, sales of which comprised half of the total number sold. Additionally, the A3 model sales were up 26 percent year-over-year.

The Audi U.S. market share has also continued to grow throughout 2009, reaching 8.3 percent calendar year-to-date, which de Nysschen attributes to sustained consumer brand resonance in light of ongoing product evolution.

"There is an unmistakable sentiment of enthusiasm coming from consumers," said Johan de Nysschen, President, Audi of America. "This active response fuels the sustained demand for Audi vehicles and explains the steady market share growth that we are seeing. That multiple vehicles set sales records in September is a testament to the momentum Audi is experiencing in the marketplace. We firmly believe that superior design and unmatched efficiency lay the groundwork for widespread appeal. Our sales results confirm this."

Mitsubishi Motors' September Sales Complete Best Quarter This Year

CYPRESS, Calif., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) today announced September 2009 sales of 4,712.

The U.S. Government's CARS program (so-called "Cash For Clunkers") pulled sales forward into July and August, however the third quarter (July through September) was by far MMNA's best of the year, up 18 percent from the first quarter (January-March) and up 29 percent over the second quarter (May-June).

"We expected we would not reach the level of last month's sales. August was our best month in almost a year," said Shinichi Kurihara, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors North America. "The real measurement of ongoing progress and customer confidence are those three-month sales increases."

"The CARS program dramatically reduced our overall inventories," added Kurihara. "Actually, the sell-down of Outlanders ideally coincides with the upcoming launch of the 2010 Outlander next month.

"It will have class-leading features like Super All Wheel Control, Idle Neutral Logic and improved fuel economy. The 2010 Outlander will be the sportiest handling CUV on the road," he said.

Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., (MMNA) is responsible for all manufacturing, finance, sales, and marketing operations for Mitsubishi Motors in the United States. MMNA sells coupes, convertibles, sedans, sport utility vehicles, and light trucks through a network of approximately 420 dealers. For more information, contact the Mitsubishi Motors News Bureau at (888) 560-6672 or visit media.mitsubishicars.com.

Porsche Reports September Sales - Up 8.4%

ATLANTA - October 1, 2009: Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars and Cayenne SUVs in the United States, today announced September sales in the U.S. of 1,581 units compared to the same period last year when it sold 1,458, up 8.4 percent. This is the second consecutive month that PCNA has recorded a sizable increase in sales — a first in 2009.

Notable were Porsche’s mid-engine sports car sales for the Boxster and Cayman, which were 326 versus last year’s figure of 195. Further, sales of Porsche’s venerable 911 series for September were 720 versus last year’s figure of 516, an increase of 40 percent and the best results for the iconic sports car in a year.

Porsche’s overall year-to-date sales in 2009 are 14,310 compared to the first nine months of last year when they were 21,076, a decrease of 32 percent.

For the month, Porsche’s Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicle sales were 523, compared to 475 for the same period last year.

Even the more expensive A6 outsold the GS.

the GS hangs its head as it moves to the back of the line.

And for the BILLIONTH time the GS and M35/45 even BRAND NEW do NOT have the SALES GOALS of the E or 5 SERIES.

Do you NOT understand that?

The GS is NOT Lexus volume car and has NEVER been. THe E class now includes coupe sales, wagons, E63, etc. The 5 series includes wagon, M5s, and 3 other engine choices.

The 5 and E class ARE Benz/BMW volume sellers. The GS will NEVER sell as well as those vehicles.

People buy a BMW for more than just Bangle style. LEASE DEALS THE GS CAN NEVER MATCH IS ONE. Two is free maintenance. Three is the 5 series and E are THE standards of the class, like the RX is for SUVs.

And the GS historically has ALWAYS outsold the A6. ALWAYS. If you don't follow sales results, don't make comments that show it.

If you are going to take the work compiled here and use it on your/other forum, at least give credit to here/us for the source of the info. Don't just steal the info compiled. Thank you.

Disclaimer- Some cars blend categories. You might not agree 100% where some are placed. This is informational only, you can decipher it as you please. This is not the golden list. Zeus didn't approve it. Its something I enjoy and like to share with members. Don't cry and run to mommy if you don't like where something is placed. Some cars and categories blend lines with me, I put them where I think they fit best. Yes I may add some cars together for informational purposes. If seeing some Lexus figures bunched together angers you that much you may need to visit a strip club and ask for the "Special" since you are that angry. Thanks

Also before making assumptions, be aware different vehicles have different sales goals and many times its not apples to apples. For instance its easy to say A car is outselling B car but B car might have much lower targets. Be aware of the sales goals.

i just said the A6 outsold the GS. nuff said. I'm not talking about historical sales.

If the audi has always been the underdog, then this makes the GS even uglier.

The hype? BMW overtake Lexus in sales this year?

Hey, what happened to those who are SO CERTAIN that BMW will take the crown at the beginning of the year? I would like to hear what they have to say now...

How does the A6 beating the GS in sales one maybe 3 months make the GS "ugly"?

Please explain your sound reasoning?

They haven't been published since the initial couple years.....CLEARLY they are minuscule at this point. The 5/E has ALWAYS outsold the GS. Always. Period, end of story.

The GS first year sales goal was 32k which is passed with the data Trexus showed us a couple months ago for example. The GS 450h has ALWAYS been a limited production model with 2000 allocated to the USA in 2007, again NOT a volume model.

your 'worry' makes me laugh. NEW model that sell 3x as many as the established GS for example.

it was an ugly month for most so i don't think hyundai is worried about the genesis, especially given their overall SPECTACULAR sales performance (+kia).

fail - it's selling great. worrisome? i think not. the E class is the best selling mid size lluxury vehicle and you're worried? you guys make me laugh!

Basically a dull sales month
fail again. ford's sales were VERY impressive. as were hyundai's, kia's, subaru's, and some others and certain models.

more giant fail. the f-150 beat genesis in sales too, shall we find more absurd comparisons? have you LOOKED at the refined rwd genesis and the cheesy fwd maxima? they're not on the same planet.

yup, yup, yup. i've repeatedly stated the RX to be the best vehicle toyota/lexus has ever made. it's perfectly matched to its target customers.

maybe hyundai doesn't consider the genesis a 'volume car' either, yet you and others are 'worried' about it.

hyundai and its other division kia were UP 27 and 24% respectively. that is AMAZING.

i love the numbers publiished in this thread, and the analysis provides some laughs...
