Sales race is interesting and in different groups..
Top spot Lexus vs BMW separated by 5k units
Benz solid 3rd
Acura/Caddy/Buick fighting for 4th place separated by 4k units
Infiniti/Audi/Lincoln separated by 600 sales!!
The last quarter will get VERY interesting! My predictions are holding pretty true/close.
As I've stated, the "DOWNTURN" is RIPE for opportunity for growth/solidifying legacy and missteps now will net a worse result than missteps when the economy was good. It is also CRYSTAL CLEAR the big 3 will be the big 3 good or in bad times (Lexus/BMW/Benz)

I think I'll start a thread on this as this is another month the GLK is first in sales in the cute ute class. This is a class really for "image" not really utility and it seems the Benz emblem glows here. The Asian entries don't really offer much value, even less utility and even weirder looks. Most would agree the GLK is the WORST entry here and here it is, selling in spades.
The X3 is on the way out as the new model is coming. The X1 will be here soon as well.
The brand new and cheaper Volvo XC60 sells hardly any better than the much older and more expensive XC90!
Whats scary for Infiniti is the sales goal was 20k initially! Ouch
GLK- 1,558
Q5-1,106
X3- 1000
XC60-828
RDX-752
EX- 563

Yes, the cute/useless-ute premium SUV category shows weak numbers. And the sales goals are largely ignored by all. Not even sure a big gas price spike would help this category.

My take, Genesis year over year sales shows huge sales gain. It's sales drop from August to September seems inline with the M, GS, and 5 series. You could say those four had the poorest month to month showing from August to September.

Here you go 1SICKLEX and everyone else debating Genesis, A6, GS, E and etc...sales. Here's the sales results for the mid-sized luxury group plus Genesis sales for the past 14 months.

Ford's European car sales rose 12.3% in September

MUNICH -- Ford Motor Co. said its new-car sales in its main 19 European markets increased 12.3 percent to 152,600 last month compared with the year before, the fourth consecutive monthly sales increase.

The U.S. carmaker said it achieved a 10.1 per cent market share in September in its 19 European main markets, the best share for any month since September 2001 and a 0.8 percentage point increase on the same month last year.
"Traditionally we expect Ford to have a good month in September given the surge of new car sales in the UK due to the registration plate change, but September 2009 has surpassed expectations," said Ingvar Sviggum, Ford of Europe's head of marketing, sales and service.
Ford's car sales have been helped in Europe by government scrappage incentives in major markets such as Germany and the UK, which have boosted demand for its Fiesta and Ka models.
Sviggum is concerned about the ending of scrappage schemes and he said there is still a need for government intervention in Europe to help bolster the market until demand reaches a more sustainable level.
Revenue boost
Sviggum said the increase in car sales is also bringing in good revenue for the company.
"Ford has now gained nine months of year-over year monthly sales share improvement and month-on-month volume increases for the last four months,” he said, adding: “But market share and volume success are only valuable if they are achieved through high quality sales that generate good revenue, and we certainly saw that in September with retail sales accounting for 60 per cent of Ford passenger car sales.”
In the first nine months, Ford sold 1.10 million vehicles in its 19 European major markets, 4.5 percent lower than in the same period in 2008. This compares with a total industry decline of 9.7 per cent.
September sales in Ford's 51 European markets including Russia and Turkey rose 5 percent to 178,300. Year-to-date across its 51 markets, Ford of Europe's sales were down 12.2 percent to 1.24 million.

Got this info.....Toyota/Lexus are selling every last Hybrid they can make and its hurting US production. This is with low gas prices!!!
In Japan
Prius is already sold out and earliest delivery date to customer is around May 2010
Lexus HS already sold out and earliest delivery date to customer is around June 2010
Its really hurting allocation for the USA here.
