you mean a touring with slightly different seats, shift paddles, and tacked on bits of plastic.

Wait wait wait, this is REPLACING the Touring model? I thought they were adding this sports model *in addition* to the Touring?

If this is the case, very dissapointing move from Lexus .

i could be wrong but i don't think it's "addition", it's more like this replacing the touring, which i agree, sux.....

and the interior is not appealing at all neither

Upon closer look, that grille actually is worse than I thought! That criss-cross weave pattern in the grille mesh is pretty horrible, and it really has no place on an LS. Overall a very bad choice for the grille, in addition to the aero kit.

That's why I said I won't want the "appearance package" even if they pay me

Wrong choice of leather colors and wood trim, since they can combine their already available trims in wood and leather to make it look more sporty.

YAWN! Come on Lexus, everyone is introducing new vehicles, and all you are doing is repricing the same.
The new interior in the L is hot though. Very nice.

This is a LS and GS pricing thread, I think you guys should move the ZR-1 vs. LF-A specs. discussion to THIS FORUM or start another thread in Car Chat

when finance told the marketing and engineering departments they've got a grand to add some excitement, this is all they could do and they couldn't afford to run a focus group.

but seriously, while toyota has a lot of money, their recent losses must have the bean counters looking to cut costs all over, and this affects new models and model upgrades.

So 460 does not get LCD dashboard like 600h. Since Advanced Pre Crash is now available in 460 what happens with nightvision?

BTW did they changed the shape of headlights? It seems more pointy and more pronounced and definitely less elegant

I don't buy that excuse one bit.

First off, the changes for the 2010 LS must have been approved in 2007/2008, before the recession even hit.

Secondly, Toyota is still spending a very considerable amount on R&D, even right now in the middle of the recession. Toyota always thinks LONG TERM, and that means it knows that spending during a recession will put it in a VERY competitive position once the economy improves.

Most of Toyota's cost cuts and spending cutbacks have been in capital expenditures, not R&D. Notice Toyota has stopped building any new factories, and is shifting production of different models to different plants based on demand to more efficiently use their current plants.

Thirdly, the LS is the Lexus flagship model. I can't imagine that bean counters had a significant influence on the LS mid-cycle enhancement, seeing as the LS in general has little influence from bean counters.

The small financial savings this brings as opposed to producing unique bumpers for the LS sports package is far outweighted by the potential negative impact this can have on the LS' image.
