By chance, I came across this article on www.autozeitung.de wishing the Mercedes W126 S class a happy 30th birthday. This is my favorite S class of all time, partly because there used to be one in our family in the day. What a great machine it was and what an incredibly timeless design it possesses in my opinion. Even today, she's still handsome, elegant and simply beautiful. You can see them quite often in Stuttgart and they still turn heads. ![Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

An interesting fact provided by the short article was the aerodynamic drag coefficient: 0.36, which at its time made it more aerodynamic than a Porsche 928!
Happy Birthday, W126.

I got one of these, a 91 fully loaded 560 sel with 15,000 miles, besides my es it is my true pride and joy, such a timeless and elegant car. The w140 would have been such a better car of it was a reliable but blk or white 97-99 s500 just screams presence on the roads, still today more so then the model that came after it

somehow, I always see those models always portrayed as the ultimate gangster/mafia mobiles with the lorenzo rims![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
agreed! One of the mags called it the "Mega-sedan"![Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
