Couldn't agree more but it's a fantastic driver's car and the people buying Evos and STIs are most definitely going to track them. Having had an Evo X previously, I can't even start describing how much fun I had at track days.
They gotta be kidding on the electronics options - 2grand for a navi, $500 backup camera and $450 for a CD changer!?! For that $3k you can get completely hooked up with Alpine/JL instead of the RF factory crap. I refuse to believe someone would actually get those options.
What you people don't seem to realise is that this car will out-handle an exotic.
It depends which exotic. An S2000 can out-handle a lot of exotics. Heck, you can get a used MR-2, modify it, and for a total cost of 50K it will out-handle many exotics. What is your point?
Problem is, many of these cars offer handling, and nothing else. If you have 50K to spend on a car that offers only handling and just about nothing else, it's a great buy. Most buyers have to compromise, and that is why 50K for handling only isn't worth it to most buyers.
I remeber shopping for a Evo 9 MR before I got my GS and I was floored that such a ****ty looking kids car could get up to the mid fourties. Now I know they are totally nuts at Mitsubishi. I would get myself an ISF in a second over a loaded evo
