If a new retro Road Runner came out, I don't think I could resist buying one, even with the POS Chrysler quality. But I don't think that will happen.....the Plymouth name is gone, and Dodge or Chrysler probably wouldn't want to use it.

Guys........I'm tempted. I knew that a limited model run was coming in purple, but didn't know just when.
I grew up with the original Challenger. And that was my favorite automotive paint color of all time.
Chrysler products, in general, though, are just so poorly built. I reviewed a Challenger R/T last year, and was generally unimpressed with it. I'd look like an idiot if I criticized their build quality, recommending that other people avoid them, and then went out and bought or leased one myself. Also, Chrysler's future is uncertain, even with Fiat ownership.

I'll admit my temptation related to pony cars, I even owned a modern Mustang GT convertible in the late 90's. But my personal preferences for pony cars today are the new Camaro and Mustang, in that order.

Love the plum crazy purple, yes I would rock one!, but my big problem with the new challanger is the weight, it weighs as much as a small truck. It's a shame because I really like the overall design.

As with the original, much of the weight is with the 5.7L Hemi powertrain......even more so with the larger, 6.2L SRT version.

I don't dare let my wife see this - if it's purple she will bring it home.
She came home from a shopping (I prefer to call it our own bailout program for underfunded mall stores) with a new pizza cutter last week . . . why?
it's purple!

I will say, the LX platform is pretty sweet but the 3.5L V6 and the 2.7L V6 have more potential problems then the Hemi equipped cars, many Hemi LX's are over 100k with no problems, oddly the V6 versions are considered the red headed step child of the Chrysler family
