That looks like a Jag, and that's a good thing. I hope they bring it overhere in any way, shape or form.

This is the sportiest Toyota-brand sedan currently offered (in the JDM market). The car is more sport than luxury. If it's true the new model is lower priced, it makes sense.

Unlikely to happen, since historically it's been almost exclusively sold in Japan only. This would not fit Toyota's lineup in North America. While it doesn't make sense to some of us how it fits in Toyota's Japan lineup, it's a different case there.

The Japanese market is unique, and a lot of Toyota models there with huge followings, history, and heritage.

Again, all the other markets get the better-looking, 'normal people' cars. The European Focus is simply brilliant, so was the Mondeo.

You can't blame Toyota for catering to the North American market. Even if the Mark X were brought here, it would sell in fairly low numbers.

On the positive side, we are getting some European Fords here in a few years supposedly.

They don't sell the chaser anymore?

They stopped production of the Chaser in 2000. Production of the Cresta and Verossa also stopped. The Mark has the most heritage and history out of all these models, so the aim of the Mark X is combining the characteristics of all these previous models into one car.

Mark X and Crown range outsell BMW/MB/Lexus in Japan :-).

I am always suprised how little Toyota/Lexus fans know of Toyota JDM range.

Why in the world would RWD Toyota, sharing platform bits with IS/GS look anything like ES? Why mention ES at all? This car will have more features than Lexus GS. It has nothing to do with ES or any FWD Toyota.

Interesting how they do offer their luxury cars with a cloth interior. Too bad over here, leather interior is nearly a requirement. I'm sure a premium cloth interior can be just as luxurious and homely as a full leather interior.

Cloth is popular in Europe as well.

Aside for the ugly tail lights, I think this car actually looks damn good. Certainly better than most cars Toyota gives us. I don't mine cloth seats in a car that's more oriented towards sport than luxury so this gets a thumbs up from me.
