I (almost) ordered a purple Challenger R/T today.

mmarshall, I'm sure it was hard to walk away but that doesn't mean its over!
Only you can decide what's best for you. I do vividly remember you mentioning this color and this car in a few posts here in Car Chat. It's kind of like you asked for it and now they've built it.

Of course, we don't always get exactly what we want in life, and sometimes have to make choices......especially when car-buying.

Yes and no. The Challenger is nice-looking, but what I really wanted to see was a new retro Road Runner.....without screwing around trying to restore an old one. Even with the notorious Chrysler cheapness in build quality, I probably WOULD order a Road Runner if they did one......especially in purple.

Hopefully they'll make one sooner rather than later

Talk about poor build quality, ancient design, inefficiency, unsafe, gross polluter, nothing like a Dodge from the 60 or 70's. Restoring one of these is a sinkhole for money and not even doable since he already noted the lack of garage, etc.

Interesting....at GM, it was just the opposite of Chrysler. GM quality (except for their poor, fade-prone, acrylic-lacquer paint jobs) began to improve in 1967 and, by 1970, was probably the best in the domestic-car industry.

Forget about the Challenger, and get rid of the Subaru too, & write a cheque for a LS460 AWD
You only live once, and even though you believe in heaven, they probably don't need cars in heaven, so enjoy the best NOW

I may (?) indeed have a new Lexus AWD product some day, Andrew, but probably not an LS460 (The RX350, for example, will handle deeper snow much better). I'm fairly well-off economically, even in retirement, but an LS460 is still a bit much.
