Yes we have even seen a Civic that can fly, but the landing was a bit of a mess.

But back on-topic, I hope the engineers are working harder than the lawyers on this one.

I would think any major engineering changes at this point by Lexus will be admission of guilt.

Certainly how legal will view it.

But maybe we will end up with stronger hooks as the only hardware change.

They can make the hooks out of titanium and if people don’t use it, it’s still useless

So then, where do we stop? At that rate, they'll be using Hummer-grade winches and cables to hold the floor mats down.

btw... LKA system in GX460 will not assist you in NA market unlike the same system in European and Japanese markets which will gently help you to keep in your line.

Guess why?

so dont complain to Toyota next time you notice NA cars getting less features ;-)

If they are found guilty, then thats the time to deploy the major engineering changes which they have already been working on as of now but have not make public. At that time, after the court case is finish, its a win win for everyone as far as timing of the cahnges is concerned.

Good question. Certainly don't want the dealer making up more CYA crap and using a nail gun.

A couple of things to note. The IS350 hooks look pretty flimsy. And we do have an experienced poster here that noticed a broken hook and loose mat in his wife's Lexus. The stopping point might be the fastener system like the one in the current gen Mercedes C-class, certainly more solid and less likely to break.

Yes, so is the lack of use of brake pedal, steering wheel, speedometer in heavy traffic.....

Does the C-class use a snap on type for securing the floor mats, those are much easier to take in and out.

Surely you are not implying that people who mistakenly forget to hook on their floor mats might mistakenly not use the steering wheel and brake pedal in heavy traffic

Yes, snap-on type and they are pretty robust. And the gas pedal is hinged at the floor too.

Audi use the same type of snap on fastener for their mats, very easy to remove and reinstall.
Gas pedal hinged on the floor is a great idea, nothing can get underneath it. Those MB engineers always think safety first
