Me too Henry.

It's still a long way away, however.

From Bimmerpost:

The 2012 M5 is expected to premier at the 2011 Frankfurt IAA autoshow in September 2011.
So initial launch should be spring of '12. Then there's the initial wait of having BMW's customers working out the kinks for them for the next 6 months.

I saw the new 5 and the outgoing 5 on the road today, side by side, both black.

My oh my, does the old one look fugly, and especially fugly next to the gorgeous new model!!! It's owner must be feeling butt raped, goatse style.

The new F10 M5 is going to be a beast.

However, with BMW's spectacular handling of the HPFP issues and the known issues with the regular F10 5 series, I'm not sure the first year F10 M5 is going to be a good choice.

The Panamera looks like the better choice more and more everyday.

lol, HPFP or not, i usually don't bother with first year's car, you are basically helping the companies to debug their products. that include lexus.

and with the f10 m5 going to be FI, i would be ultra cautious as well!

Lexus was able to pull off the F without having to debug.

There are no widespread issues plaguing the '08 that I have encountered or am aware of.

Saw a another new 5 at my tennis club yesterday, sleek sedan for sure.

And today, it's no longer acceptable to debug cars in the 1st year of volume production. Even Mercedes had to learn that lesson, with the release of the new gen C-class for model year 2008, it was debugged prior to release, what a concept.

i didn't say it's on all lexus, good for you on the isf, but then it's a car on a platform that's been out for 2 yrs. for ls460, first year was full of wind noise problem. for the 3gs, first year had tons of rattling / squeaking problems. for the 3rx, first year had a lot of problems and firmware updates on the usb connection, all after customer complaints.

i am not saying lexus is worse, but at the same time i will never say they are all solid the first year

true, BUT --- I'd say wind noise and rattles are not NEARLY as serious as the HPFP issue thats been an ongoing problem for YEARS.
