A few notes...
The TL has really fallen off...now down with the "also rans" in the segment. Acura is dying faster than I thought they would, despite a spike in MDX and RDX sales.
Cadillac outsold Acura again last month and I expect that trend to continue. Buick is nipping on their heels and will probably pass them next month with LaCrosse sales ramping up.
Last month Lincoln was down 20% but outsold Infiniti by almost a thousand units...that is pretty substantial. The weak EX and FX are clearly hurting the brand as the G is aging and M is nearly dead. MKS is selling reasonably well despite a dip...MKX and MKZ seem solid each month.
Subaru is unstoppable
Venza had a great month, topping 4K units. Sales will likely be around 53K units for the year which isn't bad for a niche vehicle like this. Sienna and Rav4 were very strong despite being older products at this point. Hard to interpret the 2010 4Runner's success based on release date but a dip of 44% isn't good at all. Tundra and Tacoma are stable.
Scion is worthless/dead/dying
Who the F is buying Dodge Avengers and Journeys, and Chrysler Sebrings? Give me a break. Do they still produce the Aspen? Rough month for Chrysler/Fiat overall
Hyundai continues to impress though the Genesis is a flop. When you consider that the coupe is far cheaper than the sedan, it's logical to think a sales split of something like 1,000 coupes and 700 sedans would be probable. Those numbers are both very sobering for the Hyundai folks.

Incentives Rise for 2010 Model Year Vehicles
http://www.benzinga.com/press-releas...2010-model-yea
Posted on 12/01/09
Edmunds.com, the premier online resource for automotive information, estimated today that the average automotive manufacturer incentive in the U.S. was $2,713 per vehicle sold in November 2009, up $52, or 1.9 percent, from October 2009, and up $32, or 1.9 percent, from November 2008.
“Now that 2010 models are piling up on dealership lots, incentives on the new models are increasing, up 21 percent from last month,” stated Jessica Caldwell, Director of Industry Analysis for Edmunds.com.
According to Edmunds.com, combined incentives spending for domestic manufacturers averaged $3,712 per vehicle sold in November 2009, down from $3,844 in October 2009. From October 2009 to November 2009, European automakers increased incentives spending by $200 to $3,186 per vehicle sold; Japanese automakers increased incentives spending by $117 to $1,547 per vehicle sold; and Korean automakers decreased incentives spending by $38 to $1,946 per vehicle sold.
True Cost of Incentives for the Top Seven Automakers
Automaker November October November
2009 2009 2008
Chrysler Group (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep) $ 3,298 $ 3,753 $ 3,514
Ford (Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Volvo) $ 3,124 $ 3,052 $ 3,818
General Motors (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer, Pontiac, Saab, Saturn)
$ 4,270 $ 4,398 $ 3,350
Honda (Acura, Honda) $ 1,195 $ 850 $ 1,115
Hyundai (Hyundai, Kia) $ 1,946 $ 1,984 $ 2,607
Nissan (Infiniti, Nissan) $ 2,011 $ 2,544 $ 2,248
Toyota (Lexus, Scion, Toyota) $ 1,704 $ 1,469 $ 2,005
Industry Average $ 2,713 $ 2,661 $ 2,681
In November 2009, the industry’s aggregate incentive spending is estimated to have totaled approximately $1.92 billion, down 13.6 percent from October 2009. Chrysler, Ford and General Motors spent an aggregate of $1.2 billion, or 62.4 percent of the total; Japanese manufacturers spent $421 million, or 21.8 percent; European manufacturers spent $219 million, or 11.4 percent; and Korean manufacturers spent $84 million, or 4.4 percent.
“Not surprisingly, GM is forced to spend handsomely on incentives - using taxpayer money - to wind down the Saturn and Pontiac brands and to keep Hummer and Saab afloat,” commented Edmunds’ AutoObserver.com Senior Editor Michelle Krebs.
Among vehicle segments, premium sport cars had the highest average incentives, $9,429 per vehicle sold, followed by large SUVs at $4,974. Subcompact cars had the lowest average incentives per vehicle sold, $1,090, followed by compact cars at $1,523. Analysis of incentives expenditures as a percentage of average sticker price for each segment shows large trucks averaged the highest, 13.9 percent, followed by large SUVs at 12.3 percent of sticker price. Premium luxury cars averaged the lowest with 5.3 percent and sport cars followed with 5.6 percent of sticker price.
Comparing all brands, in November Scion spent $375 followed by smart at $586 per vehicle sold. At the other end of the spectrum, HUMMER spent the most, $5,975, followed by Cadillac at $5,787 per vehicle sold. Relative to their vehicle prices, Pontiac and Saturn spent the most, 19.2 percent and 16.8 percent of sticker price, respectively; while Scion spent 2.2 and Subaru spent 2.6 percent.
“Increased leasing incentives accounted for significant TCI boosts for Honda and Toyota,” observed Caldwell.
Edmunds.com’s monthly True Cost of IncentivesSM (TCISM) report takes into account all automakers’ various U.S. incentives programs, including subvented interest rates and lease programs, as well as cash rebates to consumers and dealers. To ensure the greatest possible accuracy, Edmunds.com bases its calculations on sales volume, including the mix of vehicle makes and models for each month, as well as on the proportion of vehicles for which each type of incentive was used.

^ TL has historically been their bread and butter and it is very quickly dropping off. TSX, RDX, and MDX are enjoying a slight bump from the refresh but that probably won't last very long. RL is going nowhere with no word of a replacement and ZDX is expected to be relatively low volume.

Everyones sales are up from last month. If you forgot, there was a huge drop off in sales last fall. ![Egads!](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/pat.gif)
MP is right, Acura is in a sad tailspin. They have the cheapest products. They also have a $299 TSX lease deal now, no competition can touch that (or wants to). The RDX never hit sales goals. The TL was to sell 70k a year, it is now at a rate of 25k a year. The TL was the VOLUME car for the brand, it is barely selling over 2,000 units. The TSX never was to outsell the TL.
Buick and Caddy are on Acura's sales heels for the year with Caddy possibly passing them this month even as Caddy and Buick also bleed sales.
For the year Acura
is down 28% for the year.
Infiniti down 26%
Lincoln down 26%
Lexus is down 20%
Mercedes down 17%
Volvo down 18%
Audi down 8%
Caddy is down 36%
Buick is down 30%

The big news about November car sales is that Chrysler continues to lose market share at a remarkable and unsustainable rate.
Edmunds predicts that Chrysler sales will drop 35% from the same month last year, bring its piece of the U.S. market to 7.8%, down from 11.4% a year ago.
Chrysler’s new management insists the firm can survive for two years while it prepares Fiat models for the U.S. The boast gets harder to believe as each month passes. Chrysler is unlikely to have sold more than 55,000 vehicles last month.
The other important milestone in November may be that Nissan became the laggard among car companies in U.S. sales. Hyundai could move ahead of Nissan, as its total sales are expected to surge 26% to 43,000 units. Nissan sales are expected to be flat compared with last November, at about the same unit level as Hyundai.
Edmunds does not expect a significant change in sales for Ford (F), Toyota (TM), or GM compared to November 2008. Honda (HMC) sales are expected to drop 9%.
Edmunds expects total industry sales to be down 4% year-over-year and off 15% from October 2009

Those numbers are both very sobering for the Hyundai folks.
i highly doubt genesis coupe is selling more than genesis sedan. i go to every genesis coupe forum, but it's selling horrendously bad. and before coupe arrived sedan was selling at 1000-1150. no reason to think number would drastically go down to 700 per month IMO.
